My internal alarm clock was off again today, waking me up at 5 am when I didn't need to get up until 6:15. *sigh* Steve got up early too, so he could come with me on this trip. We ended up having 3 of them instead of just the 1 I thought I was taking, but fortunately all three of them are pretty small. Where we went in Ravenswood, WV isn't that far away. It has a shorter runway, 4000', and a huge set of stacks nearby and on downwind even. When we landed, there were three guys standing out on the ramp taking photos of us coming in. Steve talked with the guys in the building for like an hour and a half. He's so friendly. We all went to lunch at a nearby restaurant when they were done with their meeting, and then I flew us home VFR because it was too nice to mess with the IFR system.
Tomorrow is an early one, up at 5 am, headed to Alabama in the rain and clouds. Fun...
The drive to the airport
Sunrise coming in the hangar door
The big ole stack on downwind
Steve sitting in the log cabin style FBO building
You can kinda see the 340 out the window to the left.
