T-6ing

Yesterday Gary came from Wisconsin in their SNJ, and we met up at noon. He and I flew for an hour doing his 602 checkride, and then Dennis and I flew for 2.5 hours. Air work, stalls, TOLS, all of it. I signed them both off, and at the end of the day Morgan, Cameron, Steve, Gary and I went out to dinner at Half Moon. It made for a long-ish day, not getting home till almost 10 pm, but I finally got their 602s done at least.

This morning I was up at 6 am to bring the Conquest here to Toledo to get the autopilot hopefully fixed. I’m in the waiting room now. Sleepy as hell.

I haven’t been sleeping well for about a week. Last night I couldn’t fall asleep till almost 1, then I woke up in the middle of the night, and when my alarm went off at 6 I was half awake already anyway. NOW I’m tired. But I have been having weird dreams. Like last night I dreamed I got a new vehicle, and I was really pleased to learn that it was “Jedi Green” in color. I woke myself up from that dream wondering what the hell color was Jedi Green, is that evil Jedi like bright evil green or a good Jedi, darker olive green, or richer dark green, and what colors were Jedi sabers again, wasn’t that red and blue, and where did I come up with Jedi Green, and…and that’s how my brain has been going for days on any little thing while I’m trying to sleep. It’s annoying as heck!!

Tried to take a nap in Toledo but the clock is ticking and people are talking in the hall and planes keep going by and I know anyone could walk in at any time and I’m still thinking about every little thing, and…so it goes.

Hurricane Remnants are supposed to hit us tomorrow, when I’m supposed to be doing a flight review including spins in the Citabria. 40-45 knot winds, they think, and rain. If that’s the case we won’t be going, but we’ll see if they’ve overblown this too or not.

The photos…so much Fall color happening in the fields and sky now.

You can see how well I could see out of the airplane, right? Finding the ground safely to land with no forward visibility, minimal peripheral visibility, and cloudy glass, makes me feel kind of talented. We cleaned the windows for the next flight.

This morning’s start heading to Toledo

On the road before sunrise, in the air just after sunrise.
