We went to Marco Island, where it is Bloody Hot, and came home to 70 degrees, gray skies, and rain. Helllllo, Fall in Indiana.
But I went to bed at 11 pm because I was beat, and I woke up at 2:30 am, WIDE awake. Got out of bed at 3 am, didn't even try to get back in bed until 4 am, was awake at least another hour and a half or two. When I finally did fall asleep, I was out HARD until just about 8, woke up with the sunlight in the room, but felt like dragged doggie doo.
I was supposed to fly with Morgan this morning in the IFR, it was good and low IFR, but she didn't text me, so I didn't text her, and stayed in bed for awhile. We finally did go around 1 pm, and shot an approach down to minimums nearby, dodged some rain and storms, came back into Kokomo where it was actually almost VFR now.
Took up the Cherokee 180 next for the post-maintenance test flight, and because of all the rain around, there were big ole rainbows all over. I flew through them, and it was really cool and pretty. I tried to take photos, but photos of rainbows never seem to go as well!
I was actually supposed to do T-6 training today with 3 guys from the Wisconsin Wing of the CAF, but...it was IFR and raining. So that's moved to tomorrow. When it's supposed to be IFR in the morning again. *sigh* I just want to get that over with.
Backwards, starting with today's rainbow shots
Rainbow over Greentown
The best shot, I think
Red on the screen in front of us, heavy rain a little cell in front
More rainbow
Light rainbow that goes in front of my wing, we flew through it. Hard to see on 'film' but it was bright in person.
Trip to Marco
Cool Sun Dog on the way home
Main Street at Magic Kingdom
Steve and Cinderella's Castle
Haunted Mansion
Epcot of course
Us on the roof with a Mai Tai watching fireworks
Hello, Goodbye Disney. :)
