Saturday, we were off and running earlier. We stopped at the little cantina by our room and got some eggs, bacon and toast to start the day. Took a bus over to Magic Kingdom, and hit all the stuff there. Again, walking past hours-long-lines of people to get on rides immediately. I think the longest wait we had to get on anything was like 8 minutes. Unreal. We hit what we wanted to at Magic Kingdom, then went back to Epcot to hit Guardians of the Galaxy, which we'd missed last time. Except we got over there and it was a closed ride, so we did a few other things in the Epcot ball instead. We ate at the Crystal Palace, we'd just wanted something small but found out this was a buffet. So I ended up eating too much, even though it wasn't much, because I couldn't order ala cart, and it wasn't cheap. AND, several characters were there, and Winnie the Pooh came up to our table and Steve made me get up and be nice and hug it and take my picture with it. He was quite amused by the whole thing. Butthead. We were walking back towards France when I just hit the wall. I can NOT do Florida 90 degrees plus high humidity. Can't. I had bottles of water that I drank off and on all day, tried to eat, but after walking 6 hours around outside in that, for miles and miles, I was feeling lethargic and draggy. Steve was doing okay, but he pretended to be done and ready to go back to the room, and I didn't argue. We went back, I crashed and took a small nap, and then we went back out. We ended the day dressing up and going to a fancy restaurant called the California Grill with Kevin and Janene, eating on a rooftop surrounded by glass. At 8:30 pm Disney did its fireworks/laser show, and we took our Mai Tai's and walked outside on the roof to stand and watch the show from above, with the music being piped in right by us. It was pretty cool! This place did a special chef's course. You pick one appetizer, one main course, one dessert. I had a sushi roll (Tempura Lion's Mane Roll: Black Rice, Tempura-fried Lion's Mane Mushroom, Jumbo Asparagus, Carrot, Leek Sauce) for the appetizer and ahi tuna for the main meal, with something for dessert called "Cherry and Dark Chocolate Mille-Feuille". I don't know what that is but it was GOOD. That's the thing. I didn't know half of what I was eating other than the main/general idea. Here's what it said about my Ahi Tuna. "Bravas Papas, Olive Tapenade, Charred Citrus, Chorizo-Saffron Emulsion, Fennel and Radicchio Salad". Say what? It was awful good though. Steve got the filet. I recognized most of the words on that one. Kevin got the pork. We're back to "Goat Cheese Polenta, Mixed Mushrooms, Grilled Asparagus, Mustard Greens, Zinfandel Glaze" for the Pork Loin. No shit. Food was delicious, and places like that certainly expand your...pallet...if you can remember what you've eaten and what you like when you don't recognize the words associated with it. Lol Rich people certainly eat well. Varied and interesting flavor combinations and foods.
The only problem was, something didn't hit my system very well. I either ate too much, or something that I ate didn't agree, because I could not get to sleep to start with, and then I was up 5 times over the next 7 hours having to hit the bathroom. My system revolted. It wasn't food poisoning, but I definitely Had to get up. All night. I didn't sleep for crap.
So when it was time to get up, that was a little hard, except I still wasn't sleeping, so hey. My system stayed problematic all morning too, which was a problem since we were flying home today. So I just ate a little oatmeal around 10 am to try to settle the stomach, packed up all our stuff, and we all got a limo out to the airport at 11. I paid the bill, we loaded up and headed for home.
The forecast was for rain and storms at Kokomo. I had to go around some in TN, but by the time we got to Kokomo, the worst of it was past. Whew. Steve and I spent 30 minutes and a lot of hassle trying to get the airplane up on the tug (there's a problem with the tug and the Cheyenne and it can't do it any more), and then stopped at McCalister's to get a light sandwich for dinner.
Home where I did the laundry from the trip and unpacked my bag, sent out receipts and billing, updated my logbook, and downloaded 80 pictures.
Tomorrow I go back to Marco to pick up Andy and Sharla. Hand flying because the Conquest's autopilot is still busted. I could have bowed out of it and had them charter home, but I'll hand fly for 6 hours to get paid vs not getting paid...
I've got the last day's photos but they need gone through and I don't feel like it right now. Maybe tomorrow night after I fly all day? Probably not. Eventually. ;)
