And We Go Down Down Down

Not me, the temps.  I'm doing fine today.  I woke up today feeling all right again, thankfully.  I had eggs for brunch, haven't really eaten anything else since, just going easy on the whole stomach thing.  I don't know what hit me yesterday but it felt like a mild version of food poisoning.  I've had about enough of not feeling well, I'll tell you what!  I also think it's funny that I know what I weighed before the food poisoning. I lost the 3.5 pounds. I have really eaten one full meal since then, in a week.  I put on 2 pounds of water when I finally rehydrated, and haven't lost a single ounce since then. You can go over a week and eat almost nothing and not even lose any weight.  Seems not legit.

It's currently 19°F with a wind chill of 5°F.  Tomorrow morning approximately when I'm getting ready to head out on a flight, it'll be a windchill of -29°F.  Isn't that stupid?  Who wants to live where there it can get as low as -29°F?

We have a new couch coming.  Our couch has survived 30 years. Pre-Devon, pre-marriage. My chair and Steve's chair are completely messed up. The rest of the couch is fine but we can't just fix our two seats--we tried and it went so badly that now they look worse than they did to start with.  So after 30 years, we have decided this couch doesn't owe us any more, and we have a new one coming. Similar type thing, because it fits in our room well.  It'll probably be two months before it gets here, but I am looking forward to having it.  No more blankets on our seats and picking up pieces of fake leather repair that have flaked off the real leather couch.  This couch would fit in a flop house as is.  ;)

Kroger has a deal with free delivery over the upcoming 3 weekends, so I took advantage of it today and got some supplies with the same pricing as in the store, but someone else has to drive it here and give it to me, and drive there and shop for it and pick it all up.  Works for me.

Steve went out to lunch with Chuck, and then went out to the airport to meet with a new prospective student.

Kaylee has dived head first into plant life. She has a list of plants on her "wish list".  I asked her what tripped her trigger on plants, and she said that her clinical team is obsessed with plants, they gave her one, she has kept it alive for months, which excited her, she loves the color greens, and loves how the plants make spaces look beautiful, and it's a good hobby for her.  I can't argue with any of that.  I'll write out what she said she wanted because it was long enough ago I'll lose the text soon.

Birds of Paradise
Philodendron Pink Princess
Pothos Silver Splash
Plectranthus Tomentosa (Vicks plant)
Rubber tree
Snake plant
Parlor Palm
Golden Pothos
Mimosa Pudica (touch me not plant)

I still think it's weird she's this into plants, but hey...there are many worse hobbies to have.  :)

Tomorrow is going to be possibly awful.  Windchill of -29, like I said. I've got a trip to Wisconsin, where it's even COLDER.   I'm leaving the plane in the hangar until it's time for us to leave, getting in and going. I'm taking a cord and a blanket, but they don't have any hangar space up there because they had a huge winter storm (no joke) and everything is in the hangars.  So for the time I'm up there, if I can't get plugged in, I'll have to go out and fire up the engines every 45 minutes or so to make sure I can GET them started when it's time for us to go.  So walk out onto the sub-freezing ramp, sit in the sub-freezing plane, and run the engines until they warm up enough I think I can get them started again in 45 minutes.  I may not get paid enough for this one...
