My iPad cover came in, so I am fully back in business now, just in time to start in on the Conquest stuff and have some upcoming trips in the Cheyenne out in NJ/NY, Conquest trips in and out of Florida, Texas and Minnesota to start with, a 340 trip to south Florida, all areas where you're going to get convoluted clearances and the iPad is perfect for. So...glad to have it back in hand, bummed out that I had to get one.
Tonight we had a CAF meeting down in Indy. We were going to fly down, but the RG was busy, the Aerostar is down, and we'd have had to do it in the Citabria, which is slow, and it was windy and gusty as heck, so not the best plane for the mission, especially since we needed to bring two big chairs along with us. So I drove us down. We had food and a good meeting, where nobody even annoyed either me or Steve, which is surprising since we were both tired and pre-annoyed a bit. :D No, it was good. BOB the C-45 is doing great on the Air Power History Tour so far. It's been less than 4 weeks in, and we're already doing way better than we did in the full 7 week Spring Tour in FL. We're up something like $15,000 so far. We still have 3/4 of the tour to get through and only hope we can keep up this level of rides, but for now, it's all good, the plane is doing well, and we're all in good shape. Whew.
Tomorrow I go to Ohio to pick up Ethan's 340, test fly it up in the pressurization range, bring it back, let the mechanic look it over, fly it back to Frankfort where it's from, and then get a ride back to Kokomo. That's all that's on my agenda for tomorrow. I'd fly the T-6 guy from FWA, but it's supposed to be gusty and windy tomorrow too, and I don't feel like that in there. Another day...
