I went into the hairdresser place and picked up some conditioner and shampoo, because I was out. Stopped at the Post Office to pick up a package, only to find out that they're closed today because of Juneteenth, now a Federal Holiday. That also nixed my attempt to go by the bank to deposit two checks. So I just sent those in via mobile app and they'll count it tomorrow instead. I went by CVS to pick up Kaylee's meds for her, and then on over to 20/20 vision to pick up a pair of free contacts. I need an appointment for the annual required eye exam to be able to order more contacts, but since I can't get it in in the next two days, they gave me a pair to hold me over for a month, for free. So that was nice! That's right next to J Edwards, so I went in there and picked up a jar of my favorite olives for a friend of mine who loves olives. I'll give it to him at lunch as a surprise tomorrow if he's there. :) I then ran through the car wash, and over to the vacuum, because my floors had a lot of hair and dirt and stuff on them, salt, just messy stuff. Got that all taken care of, even though I was surprised at how much hair doesn't come up with the powerful vacuum. I then headed to the airport, where my shiny new iPad was waiting at the front desk. Picked it up and brought it home.
I was wondering how I was going to set it up without my old iPad there to transfer the data. Fortunately they have made most of this way too simple. My last backup was two months ago, so I tried to use my phone which has the same stuff, but it wouldn't let me. So I set it up manually with my icloud backup data from 2 months ago, and it went seamless. I had to update my flight charts on ForeFlight, and re-log into everything, which took a couple of hours in total, but it was really pretty painless, and probably wouldn't have taken that long if I'd just have plowed through it instead of getting distracted on all the apps along the way. ;)
I fed the cat, fed Ann, placed an order for some stuff Ann was short on, and then got a notice that three of my Amazon packages were in at the airport. I texted Steve and asked him to grab them, but he didn't answer and he's 50/50 on when he'll see something. The airport closes at 6, so I changed pants again and went out to the airport to get them. I was on the back roads when I passed Steve, so I texted "Did you?" (pick them up). He didn't answer, so I kept going, pulled into the airport, and she said "Oh, he just picked them up, you just missed him". So I turned around and drove back home. THEN he texted "of course I did". :p I got home and my order arrived, so I took care of all that stuff. I have an iPad cover coming in tomorrow, and I'll be back in business. I hate that my other iPad was lost or stolen. I still hope it shows up, because then Steve could have it and it's still a nice iPad.
Also got a lot of emails sent out and cleaned up, and all in all stayed busy on my known day off. I didn't fly a thing. ;)
