Less Rollin'

I intended on being productive today too. I had a lesson 2-4, and then was going to go to Ohio to pick up Ethan's 340 and bring it home with him. He'd had major repairs done on it including the engine and prop, and wanted me to go with him.  So I went out to the airport, and then Mother Nature took a dump on the day.  So I sat out at the airport and watched the clouds get too low to properly do either one.  And I sat out there all afternoon.  While I was there, I did at least update all the avionics on the 340, which takes like an hour from start to finish, then did the Avidyne in the RG too.  Current databases, we pay for 'em, might as well keep them current.  ;)  But that was it. Other than that I sat around and waited, my absolute least favorite way to spend an afternoon.  If I'm going to sit around, I want to do it at home in comfy pants where I can work on little projects or read a book or watch a movie or exercise or do dishes or do whatever I want...not just sit there.

Kaylee went back to college today, walked in, and one of her roommates was rude right out of the gate and bothered her. Then she texted that she thought she was having a heart attack, and then that she was nauseated.  She apparently is nervous and having a hard time out of the gate, but I'm sure she will get her stride. I'm hoping some of her other roommates that she's closer to are back and everyone's having a better time.

Steve and I drove over to Michigantown to eat at the Angry Donkey with AE. We hadn't been there in ages. The steak is still excellent. Their house salad with poppyseed dressing was delicious.  Their Apple Betty dessert was, as AE put it, "the best apple dessert I've ever had".  Well worth the drive over.

Tomorrow's my day 'off'. If the weather was good enough I'd go fly, because I'm definitely twitchy, but the weather won't be good enough, so I'll probably stay home and try to get a few internet things done.  I still have a letter of recommendation to write, and some stuff to get ready for the C-45 groundschool coming up next weekend too. Then I head right to Vegas right after that, so I need to plan for that, too.  I don't mind having plenty to do in January.  Then February will be the longest shortest month of the year.  Then March will be fun, as I fly down to Florida and spend 20 days in the Twin Beech down there.  :)
