Steve and I both started the Paxlovid yesterday afternoon. Third dose was tonight, out of ten total. Steve's symptoms have been mild so far, like a cold, without even a lot of sinus issues or anything. Mostly just a light cough and just not feeling quite right with the occasional low grade fever. I slept for 9 hours last night, and I can breathe out of my nose most of the time now, so that's all a bonus. I think I'm on the upswing now, although in some ways I'm feeling better and in other ways, worse. The intestinal issues are back, which is a little draining. I'm more fatigued than I was before. My O2 got down into the 80s at times during the night when I wasn't breathing well, which is probably why I woke up with a headache a few times. But my sinuses are more clear, my fever is gone, I can sleep, and the cough is off and on. If I could stay out of the bathroom, too, I'd probably regain some strength faster. lol I occasionally get a whiff of food or scents, and then it's gone, so eating is pretty bland, to say the least. Things are in your mouth the way you'd expect them to be, but the taste is like a ghost taste, a phantom taste, like your brain knows how it's
supposed to be, but it isn't, but you're not sure if it's phantom or real now and then. It's weird, man.
I texted the vet and gave them an update on Roadie, that she's holding, eating less, that we know the steroids are temporary and that when it quits working, it'll be the end of her time with us. They appreciated hearing from me and told me to keep them informed as needed.
I also got a couple of small Christmas presents ordered today that'll I'll have in a week. I don't have much for Kaylee; she didn't ask for anything, provided a small list upon duress, which I haven't done, so I still need something for her. I don't know if we'll get a tree up or not. Right now we sure don't have the energy or ability to haul in a bunch of boxes and a tree and festive up. So for now were just sitting here recuperating and we'll see what we get later.
Cathy took Ann to get her hair cut. Cathy gave her a Covid test this morning, and it came up negative, so, so far so good.
We're still just holding down the fort over here.
