Better and Worse Luck?

This morning Steve woke up coughing more, so he took a test and it came back positive. We probably aren't going to tell folks anything other than he's isolating for a few days. Cathy is in the car and on her way up here to take care of Ann. Steve wiped down next door and we'll try to avoid any more contact over there.

I called the doctor's office this morning, and they called in a script for paxlovid for both Steve and me. I'm right at the end of the 5 day window where they'll allow it, and he's right in the perfect window for it. I'm not sure how I feel about taking it for myself, but I want him to.  I'm 5 days in and holding, as long as it doesn't go into my lungs I think I'm okay. The drug isn't approved yet, and I have been bombarding my system with things. Vitamins (which shouldn't be toxic but still), cold medicines, Acetaminophen, antihistamines, decongestants, cough syrup, a couple others. Do I want to hit myself with this stuff too?  Maybe, feels like I should do what I can to avoid it doing the lungs thing.   The last couple of days I've tried to stick with the vitamins and a Claritin D during the day, and then at night I have to take the cold medicine and whatever I can to sleep.  I did sleep last night.  Kaylee has hydroxyzine and I took 1/2 of one. It and some melatonin and I was out pretty well for the night for the first time in days.  I still woke up feeling sick, headache, thick, and like I hadn't slept, but I DID, so...I'll take it.  I definitely need the rest.

Kaylee is stressing out. She was around Steve Saturday, she doesn't want to get it, she's worried about us because Michaele was my age and died and Kaylee has mentioned before not being able to imagine being Grace and losing her mom. She's worried about Steve because he's older and she's worried about Grandma for good reason. She's even worried about Aunt Cathy coming up and being exposed. I told her that me, Steve and Aunt Cathy were probably going to be okay. That Grandma was a concern, but she's almost 90 years old with dementia, and we are all just doing the best we can with what we've got and that's all we can do.

So, so far, still hanging in.  It's weird not tasting or smelling anything. Like you shampoo your hair and smell nothing.  So. Weird.
