Friday

Lots of half hour flights today. First up was a checkout in the RG with someone, for an hour.  I ended up going to the pharmacy to pick up the cat steroids, and by the way, she's pretty peeved at me for all the stuff I've squirted in her ears and mouth in the last two days.  I got my car washed and stopped at the Children's Christian Academy to pick up my fundraiser candles. While I was there, Mrs. Rivers needed help moving some stuff out of a shed packed with stuff. She couldn't have done it on her own, so it was fortunate I showed up when I did. I hauled out an old microwave, a thick table, and a heavy box of drawers and put them in her vehicle. Timing was good.

I then did the series of 30 minute flights. First up was the post annual test flight on Herb's Champ, which went fine. Then I flew in our Champ with one of Nick's students for .5, before sending her off on her own.  Last but not least, I took Spencer and went up in the T-6 for half an hour. Just went up, flew around for a bit, did a roll, then a loop, then few over Cameron's house, then had Spencer do the landing back in.  Put everything away, and made it in time to put Ann to bed.  It was probably a good thing I needed to get back and help Steve, because it was a BEAUTIFUL evening and I could have stayed up for hours.  Oh, and I broke 13,000 hours today, in a taildragger, so that seems appropriate.

I also needed to help Steve because his CFI expires the end of October and he hadn't done anything towards it. He thought he could wait until Monday (last day of the month), for some reason, so he now has to spend sixteen hours on the online CFI renewal course. He got Isabel and Cameron to do it for him at work for awhile, and I did it for him for a few hours at home, and took half his first quiz.  He's going to stay up all night to finish off the rest of it so he can submit it in the morning and hope that it's soon enough for them to process it and give him his renewal.  If it expires, he gets to take another FAA checkride to renew his CFI instead.  It's 1 am and I was up and keeping him company, but I'm going to have to go to bed soon as I'll have some stuff to do tomorrow and need to have gotten some sleep.
