340 Day

Kaylee wanted to sleep in the living room on the couch last night-she put in ear plugs which is a good thing, because Roadie sits out there and randomly yowls off and on all night long.  Kaylee said she slept like a log for the first time in ages.  She had been getting up at 6 am every day for a month and assumed she'd wake up at 6 am again.  She slept solid until 11 am.  I think that's a good thing, I think she needed it.  :)

I had to get up at 6 am however, and when I went out to the kitchen I didn't turn on any lights, but I made a cup of coffee, and put on my makeup in the kitchen, and she never heard a thing.  lol  I had to leave at 7:30, and drive an hour to Frankfort, where it was 12°.  Ethan and I took the 340 to Kokomo and picked up Spencer, flew to Ohio to drop off Ethan so he could pick up his Cherokee and then fly his friend Gary back to his place in Elsewhere, Ohio, after HE dropped off his 421 at the same place as Ethan was picking up his Cherokee.  Got it?  So Ethan gets out in Ohio, and Spencer crawls up front and he and I fly back to Kokomo, then practice an instrument approach and several engine outs, and a short field landing in preparation for his official 340 training tomorrow.  He does well, so I drop him off at Kokomo, top off there, and fly back to Frankfort.  While I'm waiting for Ethan to get back in his Cherokee, I went to Jimmy John's and got a sandwich, and then when Ethan arrived he and I went up and did steep turns, instrument approaches, and engine outs.  When we were done, it all ended up being almost 4 hours of total flight time.

I drove back to Kokomo, and then Kaylee, Steve and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner, before coming home to put comfy pants on, warm up, hunker down for the night, and watch 9-1-1 and the Rookie.  :)
