I was sleeping really hard when my alarm went off this morning, catching up from the last few days I guess. I was a little groggy, but finally got awake in time to head to Florida with Spencer today. I gave him the first leg, from start-up to shut down. He did a great job. We topped off and picked up Kevin and Janene, and headed back. The airplane started having these...glitches. The left and right engines would lose power randomly, like they did before it went to Pennsylvania and they hoped they fixed it (they didn't). The fuel tanks started leaking in the hangar, like they did before it went to Pennsylvania and they fixed it (not for long, apparently). The heading bug froze on us briefly on one trip, something they weren't sure they fixed in Pennsylvania (they didn't). And a new one, my two main displays went completely black while I was flying along up in the upper flight levels. They went black, I just sat there for a few seconds without doing anything to assess (always a good plan if something is going wrong unless it's a rapid decompression or an engine failure right after takeoff). Then it flickered, came back up with the word "FAIL" over both displays, and then eventually reset and started working again. The displays show me my attitude, nav, HSI, heading info. It happened two or three times, but the autopilot stayed connected and the plane kept flying along even with no display, and I have old backups around, so at least it didn't happen in the middle of an ILS down to minimums or something. It also didn't want to start down in Florida, but pulling the computer circuit breakers and trying again worked. So all in all, it wasn't bad, nothing was really terribly wrong, but it was glitchy. I was glad it was a nice weather day, minus one line of precip that they descended us down into. The only line of precip in the entire flight, and we were above it, and they descended us down into it. Brother. But it wasn't bad, mostly just rain...
We got them home, with a gusty 24 knot wind, and then hung out at the airport while Steve and AE did a little more clean-up. When I got home, I was really tired, and I've just been working on downloading my pictures from my phone and real camera both. Kaylee's home from school for now, and is doing laundry and packing up, as she'll be heading out again for about a month. Ann is pretend teaching school next door, but it keeps her occupied, so...
And that's it for the weekend. All caught up for now.
