Party Time

Saturday didn't start off a lot better, with that headache.  It took me most of the day to get rid of it.  I told Steve I'd try to get out there and help set up for the night's party, and he told me not to worry about it, to show up around 4:30 or so.  The winds were howling today, starting off around 40 knots with a few gusts higher than that.  They had some winds up around 60 mph.  I had a student who was supposed to do a pre-solo check flight this morning, and he texted me and said it was kind of windy and were we going or not.  The fact that he had to ask made me wonder a little bit about him.  I told him "Well, if you can land in these winds, I'll definitely sign you off for solo".  ;)  Yes, we're canceled, man.

I put on a nice shirt and did my make-up again, and wore some black boots instead of my tennies, and was on my feet the rest of the night.  When I got there, the wind was still howling, so I stepped outside and took a selfie by the wind sock just for the fun of it.  The party went well, we had over 90 people here, a ton of great food, tables full of desserts.  We didn't do it last year because of Covid. This year it was good to get back together with most of 'our' people.

People didn't go home until 10 pm, and then we had to take down the lights off the door and the Cheyenne because I had a trip at 9 am the next morning.  So again, we got home pretty late, but it was a good day.  I socialized, I made it around to most of the tables, said hi to most of the people.  Didn't over-eat even with all that good homemade food.  It was nice...
