Kaylee said she earned her belay certification yesterday.  I had to ask..."what's that?!"  It's the person who stands at the base of a climbing rock wall with the gear on, who is the safety person for the climbers.  Big responsibility for sure! 

No change on Ann. I'm hoping she can at least get her own food soon.  We're both going to be gone all day Saturday in Indy for an event a year in the making. So Steve's been trying to find who we can get through her insurance to come over, but he's been swamped with phone calls and emails and texts on all the things we have going on.  He's just one thing after the next after the next.  I do what I can and have been busy too. Tonight she had trouble when it was bedtime.  *sigh*

My trip tomorrow has been canceled because the weather doesn't look great. I think it's good enough to get the job done, but he was hesitant, and I'll never take a pilot who doesn't feel good about a trip and make them do it just to show them it can be done.  So his guy is going to be driving at 4:30 am to get there in time. I would have had to get up at 5:45 am to get ready, drive an hour, and be there on time to get him there, so in a way, better him than me.  ;)  No paycheck though, but...there will be another day.

Did I say this already? I registered for the NATA formation clinic at Dubuque, to see about doing the flyovers at Oshkosh during the show. I registered, paid $200 for the privilege, plus a name tag plus a patch for the flight suit and a t-shirt, things I don't really have the option to not get, but hey.  I also reserved my hotel room for the formation clinic.  At $89/night group rate for a Holiday Inn, that's not shabby.  What's left is 1) figuring out how to pay for all that flying, and 2) hoping that it's not as much effort as it feels like it's going to be to convince those guys that I belong there and to let me prove it, and then let me fly in the show, without too much hassle.  I'm going to try to do it once, and...see.
