Mid-Week

Woke up to 3" of snow.  It's pretty, I guess.  Steve had to shovel it enough to get to the garage, his mom's, and open up the front sidewalk to the house.  My student said "we have 800' ceilings, but I'm more concerned about the icing".  We're in the cross-country phase of Private, so I explained that the 800' ceilings are the show stopper right there, and we don't get icing when we're not in the clouds (or sleet), but either way we weren't going.  They got the runways cleaned off fast, and the airport itself was in good shape.

I wrote a letter of recommendation for a lady towards a scholarship today.  I filled out a student evaluation form and sent it to her professor.  She's my flight student and her prof let her use it towards credit for something in her college class.  So I have to fill out a form every week, and then once a semester I have to fill out an evaluation of her.  I did the bedding in both our room and the guestroom, and the shower curtain out of our shower, and finished up a lot of house chores, laundry, dishes.  Organized some things for Goodwill and have them ready to deliver.  Took my beautiful bottles of wine that were a gift out of the fancy box they were in and put them up where they belong, waiting for me to open and try. Exercised.  Did stuff.

Wanted to have a steak and broccoli for dinner from Outback. Didn't want to go get it.  I spent 15 minutes on their website going in circles. Every time I tried to choose "Delivery", it would ask me where, I'd type in my address, it would say it was accepted, then it would send me to another page where "Pick up" was already selected.  I did this round and round.  Finally I called them.  "We don't have delivery today" they say.  What?  So I went through Orange Crate. Grub Hub. Door Dash.  NOT ONE OF THEM had Outback as an option!  Fine.  So I did Grindstone Charley's, because believe it or not, their fillet is actually really good.  It took an hour of messing around before I finally ended up successfully ordering our steak and broccoli.

Not sure what else I did today, but I was quite productive with what I had to do.  I'm a little ahead of the game on the few Christmas presents I'm getting, I have the guestroom ready for company, I have most of the groceries I need for next week, just need one more round of fresh food next week.  It's weird being ahead of the game for Christmas for once in my life.  Except for getting out cards which I never do and still haven't done.  Heck, I'd probably still have time if I felt like it.  Checking.  Nope, I don't think I do...
