I met with a woman who is a scientist, flying out of Indy, her CFI hit on her and then has made it tough for her to progress. She wanted to come up here and talk to me, so we spent a couple hours together. We were going to go flying, but the winds were a little counterproductive for that. I don't know if she'll come up here to fly or not. It's pretty far away for her. But she'd be better off up here. We'll see.
My first flight of the day was in a Legend Cub. I looked it over pretty good, and it seems to be in great shape. It's a nice airplane, has a GPS and ADS-B and everything in it. A Cub with a GPS and a starter. It didn't have an autopilot though. ;) But great visibility, not very nose blind, and the pilot sits up front, not the back. Sort of a cheater for a Cub, but hey. So he and I took off and just did some flying around. He didn't want to do a lot of maneuvers, just wanted to go fly, so that's what we did. He made a nice landing out of it too, his first tailwheel landing in years. :) It was beautiful out. Smooth, calm, crystal clear. Perfect Fall morning.
I got into a huge text discussion with someone who always over-texts, like for way too long, too many topics, doesn't drop it. I eventually said "I'm going off the ole phone for awhile. Night!" This person had come to me for a tailwheel endorsement, which I said I'd do. It's taking waaay longer than normal. Fine. Then they said they wanted to do their Sport CFI. Great idea, said I, but I'm not the right person for that. Months later here they asked me again to do it, and I said no, and they said "Didn't you know that's why I was here??" I said "No, you were here to get your tailwheel endorsement." I don't want to do it. I don't have any idea how to do it. And I'm ready for them to be done and move on. It may not be that easy, but I can hope.
My evening flight was canceled for winds. I came home and had a salad for dinner, followed by a piece of strawberry cake from J Edwards. I'd bought it while I dropped Ann off at the foot doctor. I still have a little left but am too full to eat it. I'll enjoy it more later. Strawberry cream cheese frosting on a strawberry piece of cake. And that's the great thing about being an adult. I can eat a salad and a piece of cake for dinner if I want to and I don't care if anybody else likes it or not. ;)
