Drip and Blow

I really only had yesterday afternoon to relax and feel good about what I got done, before getting up this morning and realizing how many things had gotten tossed to the back burner that I needed to catch up on.  And the jockeying began anew from people trying to schedule time with me that I hadn't been able to fly with in too long.

Of course I was out of clean clothes, so I took care of that, and I was out of some clean dishes too, so did that.  We had a guy delivering our new furnace today, but it's not installed or up and running yet.  So far he's gotten the old one taken out of the house, so that's progress.  He'll be back tomorrow and we'll see how it goes.  Thankfully it won't get too cold tonight.  ;)

I started working my schedule, which takes way too long.  I have a trip to MN on Thursday, so I had four people to cancel or reschedule.  Also on Thursday, the T-6 in Terre Haute wanted to fly.  I bumped him to Wednesday, meaning I had to cancel another one of my 5 pm students for *that* day, but that day the winds look gnarly, and I can't do anything about that today.  I had three flights today, all of which got rained out and rescheduled, one for tomorrow afternoon.  One I canceled for Thursday asked if they could go on the trip to MN with me, but I'll have a very full load of people that day, lots of gas and 8 people, so no. Tomorrow I have four students and Ann has a doctor appointment, but I'm not sure for what so I need to go check that before it gets too late here.  Ann needs food, but I didn't have time today and won't tomorrow at all, so I ordered it delivered tonight, and hopefully they have at least most of what we need.  I cleaned out a lot of my emails and caught up on some of that, and dealt with an SMA Support project, helping build a wheelchair ramp from a house as theirs fell apart and they can't get her in and out of the house with her power chair until it gets rebuilt properly.  They almost didn't want to take my credit card over the phone, said they were only taking cards from people they know.  I'm like...wut?  Eventually they did it, because I didn't want to wait 10 days for my e-check to get there and clear, while Lizzy is stuck in the house, before they could even get STARTED on building the ramp.  So, that was odd.  I also did billing for the T-6 on the ramp at Kokomo, going through and writing down the days and times we flew, to send him a bill on my time thus far.  I need to do that for the Terre Haute T-6 as well, so it'll be ready and caught up by the time I go back down there Wednesday.  Tonight one of my last projects will be getting the checks I have gotten in since my first deposit ready to go in for SMA Support from the Bash.  Then I need to print up thank you letters/receipts and get those sent out to people as appropriate. I don't feel like I'll get that part done tonight.  I know there's at least one more check that should be here any day, and after that comes in I'll release the final numbers for everything.  We're fine, we're at about $4400 at the moment for SMA.   I had to stare at the weather for awhile, because a T-6 is out on the ramp, but the weather was just supposed to be rain, not storm, but it's turned out to have a little storm here and there too, and I've been staring at radar and such to keep an eye on things.  Not that there's a lot I could do right now anyway.  The thing doesn't really have brakes.  I can't move it in the middle of the weather anyway.  So...I just watch.

Okay.  I'm going to see about ordering Panera for next door, and getting these checks ready to go for a deposit for the next available day I can get to a bank during business hours, which won't be tomorrow.

I don't know what I've forgotten that I did today, but do you really care?  I would guess not.  ;)

Oh, one funny thing.  This morning I turned on the TV while I was getting ready for my morning flight (that canceled), and suddenly I get the "Breaking News" alert, and lawd have mercy if it wasn't about the senate confirmation hearings.  I thought, oh please, no, why did it have to pick a rainy, IFR day here to start this next round of the circus show??  When I'll actually be home?  So I muted it and got busy doing everything else I needed to do anyway.  Which is what I'm going to go do right now.

See ya tomorrow, when I fly a Legend Cub for the first time, instructing in something I haven't flown before, but how bad can it be, eh?  Then a doc appointment (I need to figure out), then a Discovery Flight with a woman coming from 2 hours away because she feels disrespected at her current flight school, then Champ flying with Ana, and hoping the winds are calmer so she can nail down that flare.  And so on.

Behave.
