What a beautiful day, and the rest of the week is supposed to be this way. It's almost chilly at night sitting around the fire.
They closed Oshkosh camping, and Oshkosh arrivals, all day. They opened it back up at the end of the day, until they said "We're full now, go home". I'm assuming just full of dry areas, and more will open up tomorrow. Again, meanwhile, we're doing just fine. A big old breakfast with everything imaginable, lunch out and about, a campfire dinner of chicken, pork, corn on the cob, asparagus, salad, baked beans, and fresh corn bread with homemade chocolate chip cookies, the whole ball of wax. I'm so full, I wasn't hungry to start with but I wasn't passing up on that food, either.
I got a text that they are debuting the "WASP Rise Above" film Wednesday at 5:30 for a premier grand opening thing, and I'm invited. I texted Kaylee and told her she should see this too. I'll go and watch it, I guess it's 27 minutes long, and we'll see what it looks like all put together, and if they left in anything I did. I'm guessing the Arch scene will still be there, but the rest is a crap shoot. I hope I see Kaylee more than anything else. ;)
No updates from her. Last I heard she made cookies and was doing fine. I have no additional information.
We got our wristbands today for the week. Even with miles and miles of trailers stuck outside the gates, the population inside was still really busy. The city has blown up, airplane nation is back.
We're doing well. Tonight was our first fire, and it's well populated. Lots of friends around. I've eaten too much, so tomorrow I have to take it easier. Lay off the big breakfast for starters. Maybe just some bacon. Or skip lunch. But one of them has to go before my stomach explodes.
I think next year I might bring the T-6 back up. I guess it's been since 2010 since Checkertail was up here. Seems about due.
