Saturday Stuff

The other day a woman called to set up a special ride/flight for her dad, probably a T-6 ride. She was talking to Steve, and she mentioned that her dad was older, and wondered what a good flight might be for him. Towards the end of the conversation, Steve asked how old her dad was, and she said "Oh, he's about 50." Steve about choked. lol

Steve spent today mostly finishing up the work on the bathroom floor. He's got everything done but the tile, and went ahead and put the stool back on. Now all we have to do is either figure out how to perfectly match up the edges of the tile that was removed, some of which is broken, or find exactly matching tile from ten years ago to put down. Noooo problem. It looks good, and I stood on the floor and it feels solid, but I still think I'll let him be the first one to sit down on the stool... ;)

This evening there was a surprise birthday party for Brad down in Noblesville, so while Steve finished the floor project, Kaylee and I drove down. Before we got there, I let Kaylee know that Maggie had just gotten her ears pierced, and oh buddy was she on a tear from there on out! By the time she does get her ears pierced, she will certainly want them. Kaylee had fun playing with Maggie and the other kids, and the adults had fun playing either "The Price is Right" Wii downstairs or "Rock Band" upstairs. Kaylee was the singer for "We Are the Champions" and got 100% on it, which she was pretty proud of. I came upstairs to see her in a room full of people singing to Queen, and I stayed behind her so she wouldn't see me and quit singing like she does sometimes. She did a good job. :)

Kaylee has also come out with a Christmas Wish List. She's got everything on there from a pet rock to a cell phone (I told her no way). One thing she listed that made us smile was "Since Stuff". We told her she needed to learn how to spell "Science" properly, so now her Christmas List has "Since" crossed out and replaced with "Sience". Well, it's closer anyway...

To end our evening, Kaylee asked if we could go through the "City of Lights" that Kokomo puts up each year in Highland Park. I started to say no, then couldn't think of any good reason to say no or any better time to drive through it than now, so we drove through. They didn't have music going this time, but the lights were all up, and we chose favorites and enjoyed them all as we drove through slowly with our headlights off. At the end I gave her the money to give to "Santa", who asked her if she'd been good. She said yes so he gave her a candy cane. Then he leaned in my window and said "And have YOU been good?" I said "Well...mostly..." and he laughed and then said "Good enough" and handed me a candy cane too. You can't lie to Santa, right?? ;)
