As I'm typing this, I just turned on the TV so I could keep an eye on the weather that is headed our way. Sure enough, there's a tornado warning off to our west, and some big ugly thunderstorms headed for us. I just landed from a flight out at Glenndale in KS, and even though the winds were just in the low 20s, it was so turbulent that you got tossed around like a "rodeo" as the fellow I was with put it. Great crosswind practice for him, too. Right now, however, it is a good time to be on the ground. :)
Jeff and Cindy left at 5 a.m. today. They may not be related to me after all--anyone who can get up at 5 a.m. on purpose on a vacation day... :) No, they have a long drive ahead of them, and will probably arrive late tonight. It was good to see them-it's been about 4 years. Jeffrey has two years to go before he completes Seminary and will be a Pastoral relationship counselor. Pastoral service runs in his/our family. :) Cindy just got a promotion and gets to fly around now and then in her company's new Citation Mustang. We had a good visit, it was great to hang out with them again, and hopefully it won't be another four years before the next time!
Kaylee and I got up early today for a flight I was supposed to have, but he cancelled. So I cuddled with Kaylee on the couch for "a few minutes", until she passed out cold wrapped around me, and stayed that way for over an hour. I got two texts and two phone calls, with my phone on loud and no other noises around, and she slept through the whole thing. Finally I had to get her up so I could get up and see who needed my attention. Poor thing was deep breathing out cold coma-style asleep.
We spent the afternoon at Glenndale, her playing on the computer and me entering time sheets and doing end of the month stuff, while Steve had a string of lessons...right up to this storm anyway, and now he's headed off for an important computer job. I hope they keep their electricity out there.
Kaylee is cleaning airport dirt off and soaking in the tub (I hope we keep our electricity here, too). She started screaming about a giant bug in her bathroom, so I go in there, and it's an ant. It's the mother of all ants. That sucker had to be an inch long--I've never seen anything like it that wasn't on the Discovery Channel or horror movies. N A S T Y.
Well, here are the few photos I took yesterday at the airport. Cindy has more that she'll send me when she gets back home and gets a chance. And these are a few photos from our trip to Monticello the other day too....
