Oh Brother...

You know you're pathetic when...

You wake up at 3:30 a.m., thinking about the little postcard invites that the bowling place gave you and that you just finished getting ready to send out, and feeling like they are uncomfortably...skimpy. You're not thinking they need to be embossed lace with a sheer rice paper overlay hand-tied with a tiny satin ribbon or anything, but a bit more than a postcard would be nice for her age. So you think about what else you can do, and realize that you don't have time to do anything else, because these would have been sent out at least a week ago had you known you would be having a party that day after all. And you are worried that the kids in the class will lose the little card as it is, but you don't have time or a good way to get all the kids' addresses and stick them in the mail directly to the parents. Your daughter just spent over an hour hand-writing the details on each of these cards anyway, and is excited to hand them out tomorrow at school. So then you start wondering if you have an envelope the right size to at least put them in and make them a little nicer and more difficult to lose. Now it's 3:45 a.m. and you tell yourself to go to sleep-except you know you won't have time before school in the morning when these are going out in order to do much of anything, including add that hand-written note to them all about free food being available. So you try to shut your brain off anyway, until you finally give up at 4:00 a.m. and get out of bed to look for envelopes and make that little handwritten note on the cards. You find big red envelopes that would at least stick out, but are way too big. Then you run across the envelopes you use for thank you notes and receipts for SMA Support, (purchased personally, not through the organization) and hey, those cards fit in there like they were made for them. Perfect. Then you think to yourself...huh...you know, instead of just using the envelopes, I could also use the cards, and slip this little postcard inside. That way I could get more info in there, and Kaylee's hard work and personal touch won't be wasted. So you gather all the cards and envelopes and come out to your computer, and at 4:30 a.m. start figuring out what to put on the front and inside of these cards and how to format this stinking Word program to make everything print properly. By 6 a.m. you are done, and feeling much better about the little invitations going out, which may have been thrown together quickly, and may be simple, but at least look much better than they did when you went to bed at 12:30 a.m.

You also know you're pathetic when you get three hours of sleep and make a blog entry at 6 a.m. over making up birthday invitations. ;)

You know you are obsessive don't you? LOL!!! I laugh because I would do the same thing. Ha! That's funny. Although I do completely understand that you wanted them nice for Kaylee. Mom's are just that way.
