Kaylee is still recuperating from her sleepover, but I think after tonight she should be back to normal, as long as she gets some good rest tonight.
Really, I can't think of a single interesting thing to say. It was a typical day, and the only thing I didn't do that I normally do is go to the post office. I went by three times on my way to something else, and each time the cars were lined up out into the street waiting to get in. I just didn't need to go in that badly.
I've been studying these last few days on the T-6 information. Pattern numbers, airspeeds, power settings, that kind of thing. It's funny, I used to read something like this once or twice and I had it...these days I have to actually focus and study and hope I retain it. ;)
Just about every Monday, when Kaylee and I leave ballet, I take her next door to the little ice cream and sandwich shop and get her a treat in between ballet and cheer. Last time I went in, the girl behind the counter yelled out to the rest of the room "Does anybody know how I can measure a third of a pound?" She had a scale that read out in ounces and didn't know how to read it or what it meant and a customer had ordered 1/3 pound of chocolates. Nobody said anything, so I volunteered "Well, a pound has 16 ounces." Blank stare. "Divide 16 oz by 3 to get 1/3 of a pound." Blank stare. *sigh* I was trying to help her figure it out for next time, but finally I just told her the answer. Today, I gave a guy a hundred dollar bill because I needed change. The computer told him how much the change was, and He Couldn't Count It back to me. I mean, he literally had a woman hand the right bills to him because he got stuck and then he could not count them to me. Twenty, Forty, Sixty, Eighty, Eighty-five, Ninety, Ninety-five, Ninety-six, Ninety-seven, Ninety-eight and three cents. I had to count it for him. KAYLEE can count money now, including up to $100. Just...wow. Things like this just make me more eager to make sure she gets a good education in all real-world practical matters too...
