Day of...Rest?

Steve went to pick up Kaylee at 8 o'clock this morning from her sleepover at the gymnastics place, and when he arrived, he found hoards of dazed looking children sitting there waiting for parents, and his daughter asleep in a ball on her stuff. Apparently they had stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. She walked in the door, came into my room, crawled into bed with me, cuddled up and put her arm around me, and passed right back out before she could even answer my question of "Did you have fun, honey?" She was deep breathing in seconds. I stayed there for an hour or so, and then I replaced myself with a squishy pillow for her to grab on to, and I got up. I checked on her a couple of times throughout the morning, and she didn't even move. She was just OUT. But she has school tomorrow, and I knew if we let her sleep too late she'd have a problem going to bed tonight, so I went in and woke her up at 11:30. For the next 30 minutes I just sat on the couch holding her in my lap while she tried to wake up. She claims that she had a lot of fun playing games all over the gym until very late, but still hasn't given me too many details yet. She's been half dazed most of the day, so I hope she sleeps well tonight!

Once we got her going, we headed to KFC and picked up a bucket of chicken and some sides and took them out to the Kokomo airport where Kaylee got to play with the kids again for a few hours. Nathan worked on the Mustang some, Steve helped a little, and I observed. Looking around underneath the panels is interesting, and I learned to recognize a couple of things. Kaylee ended up hitting a wall exhausted, so we headed home with one short stop at "Scoops", a great little hole-in-the-wall ice cream shop. We relaxed at home for a little bit, and then I took Kaylee to her Awanas Awards ceremony, which lasted an hour. That was the last time she'll wear the Awanas vest until September when they start up again. She was surprised and pleased to look over and spot Grandma & Grandpa in the audience with me. :) I took a couple of pictures, but the six I took didn't turn out well.

At this point she's pretty wiped out, so I fed her and put her in her room, which Steve has been working on better organizing, and hopefully she will sleep well tonight and be rested for Monday...
