Let's See...

Yes, Steve is still sick. He hasn't made it out of the house in a couple of days now, which is driving him crazy. In fact, he hasn't really made it off the couch in a couple of days now. He started to feel better this evening until it closed in again. This stuff is no fun. Hopefully Kaylee and I can stay away from it, though I admit I'm not hopeful...

Well, we cancelled our trip to Missouri this weekend, to help fly a large group of Boy Scouts. It just was not meant to be apparently. I had a trip come up on Sunday, so either we were going to have to come back Saturday after the rides or Steve and Kaylee would have had to go without me. Then Steve got sick and the plane we were going to take went down for maintenance. Then the weather headed for thunderstorm territory. Then I found out Kaylee's ballet and tap professional photos are supposed to be tomorrow afternoon. Just one thing after the other. So, not this time unfortunately. We miss out on Grandma/Grandpa time, home made chocolate chip cookies and a trip to the circus too.

Lunch today was a tad unusual. We had quite the feast! Justin G. was recently hired at a new job here in town, and to celebrate he bought New York Strip steaks and grilled them up for everybody at lunch. Thirty of them grilled up and consumed, in fact. We also had baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, salad, chocolate cake, banana pudding, cherry cheesecake, just all SORTS of stuff. It was Really delicious. And those weren't cheapy Kroger steaks either, they were meat market good quality 3/4" cut large juicy steaks. Yum. Steve, still being ill, didn't make it out; so I made up a plate for Steve and Chuck donated the rest of the banana pudding to him, since it's his favorite thing. :)

Tonight on the news, the local "editorial piece" was titled "It's Almost Over", and it was actually pretty funny. It was about the local and national politicians, and about how tired we all are of hearing about it. This is the first time in forty-some years that Indiana's primary makes any difference whatsoever, so we have had the Democratic candidates here in force both on tv commercials and even in person. Then of course there are the local battles. The reporter said he didn't want to hear any more how this guy grew up on a poor farm or this woman grew up working in a factory, bemoaned how we've seen more of our congressman on tv the last few weeks than we've seen of him the last 20 years total, and how "I'm glad Indiana matters for once, but I think we are all saying 'Enough Already'!" Voting is on Tuesday, and then presumably the candidates will all leave Indiana and move on to the next state. It's almost over!

I finished a Dan Brown book called "Deception Point" tonight. I started it in Michigan the other day, and got almost through it before leaving. I enjoyed it, even though it got a tad cheesy at the end. I may have to find another book to read on my trip home from Massachusetts Sunday, since I'll have a good 3 1/2 hours or more to kill. ;) Well, sort of. Unfortunately there's an 80% chance of rain where I'm going, so I may be too busy for awhile there...at least it should be good weather coming back into Kokomo.

I'm sure I am forgetting something, but I've been sitting here staring at the blog long enough. I'll just hit 'post', and I'll catch up to you tomorrow. :) Have a good weekend!
