It was a really pretty day. Steve had a flight this morning, and we decided to have an impromptu little fun day at Nathan's hangar. I took Kaylee, stopped at McDonalds for the kids and at Wendy's for the grown-ups, and brought out a bunch of food. Nathan brought his kids, Chuck came on out, and Steve, Kaylee and I went out too. We just sat and talked and ate and relaxed for a bit while the kids played. The boys went up to the terminal before I got there and did a little schmoozing, and before I left I went up there and did some chatting myself. People in general are really excited about the Flight Training Center coming. I talked to two more people on the phone today, and responded to an email about it as well. Out of the contacts I've spoken with, at least three of them seem pretty gung-ho and ready to go, and Steve has spoken with several as well. Pretty exciting overall. :)
We were going to go flying as a family, but Kaylee didn't feel like just riding in the back, so I brought her home and let the boys go fly without us. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 50s! Too bad the Baron is headed to Florida. :)
On the way out to the airport, Kaylee asked me if she could take flying lessons, and I said yes. She then asked me if she had to pay us for those lessons. I said that because she is blessed enough to have two instructors for parents, that no, she didn't have to pay us for flight lessons. That we'd have to pay to use the airplanes, but that if she was serious, we'd do it. She still says she's interested, but we'll see. She's too young to do it seriously-for one thing, she can't reach the rudders, which are a little important. Like I said, we'll see...
It's been a good day. :)
