Ooooh, Shaking in My Boots

That was some awful snow storm we had--again. We probably got like 3-4", maybe, and it melted almost completely off the main roads before noon. However, schools were all cancelled anyway, which I don't quite 'get' since they were only on a delay after a rather ugly ice storm.

I got a lot of stuff done yesterday, and when I went to bed, I fell asleep right away, and I was Out Hard. I slept like the proverbial log, and boy did I need that. When I woke up, I sneaked into the other room, checked the website, found out that Kaylee had a Snow Day coming, did a quick Happy Dance, and went back to sleep. Even when Kaylee got up, she didn't get me, she got her breakfast and watched a cartoon. It was a vacation day all around.

It was my turn to get food for lunch at Glenndale today, so I called and ordered chicken. Unfortunately, while my throat doesn't hurt, my voice was...not itself. I sounded like an old male smoker, all gravely and low and hoarse, and the lady couldn't even understand me for awhile. Finally we got it, and I ordered the chicken to be ready at 11:45 a.m. She called me back and said it wouldn't be ready until noon, which posed a problem, but I needed almost 50 pieces of chicken, so what could I do? I let people know I'd be late (which is grounds for hanging out here), and then once I got to the store at noon to pick it up, I was told it would be another 17 minutes. Ohhh, not cool. I was almost a half hour late with the food, while a group of people sit there and wait for it. I did get money off of the total order. For some reason, perhaps it was the look on my face, but when they asked for my store card so they could give me a sale price on the chicken, and I didn't have a store card there, they gave me the sale price anyway, and took off some more for my wait.

Kaylee was happy that a playmate was at the airport for today; Jamie had a Snow Day today too, so they played for almost 5 hours.

Well, I think I'm probably done working for the day. It's time to grab some food and beverages and go relax on a Friday evening. :)

Sounds like a good day! We had a lot of snow here too. We got around 8-10" (I think). We were supposed to get around 6", but I know we got more than that!
