This morning I took our 172 over to Huntington, then got a ride back to the T-6 back at Tim's place. Guy named Kurt had it pulled out and topped off and ready to go. Loren flew in in his T-6, and we briefed on the ground, then loaded up. Kurt went with me. Loren and I did an element takeoff on the 75' wide runway, flew around for a bit, then did 3 passes over the parade and event. The last pass, we counted down and "broke" at the same time in opposite directions. Twas kind of fun, and it went pretty well. Loren split off and went on his own way, and I landed back at Huntington with Kurt, dropped him off, helped put the T-6 away, and then flew with Bill H, the T-6 owner's dad. We flew about an hour in the 172, and he picks it back up pretty quickly. He hadn't flown in forever, is 85 years old, and doing pretty well in my opinion. :)
When he was worn out, I flew home, self-serve fueled it, put it away, and hung out in the hangar while Steve took a flight in a Mooney. Then an old friend stopped by. Old friend or OLD friend? Hmm. ;)
I drove over to Marion and flew 1.4 in the Cub with Monica on a checkout. Beautiful evening to fly with an open door.
Met Steve and Justin at Pastarrific before coming home to watch a war movie and go to bed. I'm sleeeeeepy.
A quickie clip of our last pass where we split up and "broke" in opposite directions. I'm #2
