Bigger Storming

Whew! Today I was supposed to go to Gallatin/Sparta, Kentucky. I woke up to a ton of crap out there, and I figured it might get out of the way and I could get in. No way, not a chance! I had to text him and tell him it was not happening. Later in the morning when we would have been attempting to get in, I sent a screen shot of what the weather was and said "Good decision". The whole area was red. Big, ugly, hard-pouring, high winds, just bad crap. Half the state of Indiana is under flood emergencies, flood warnings, damage, etc. I felt no regrets about canceling that one. Would not have happened. Heck, I'm watching the national news and here we are on there too. Anyway, that rearranged my day, I'd say.

Morgan is on a trip with her new people today, and she is texting me that she misses flying with me. Ditto. We make a good team in an airplane.

I've packed my bags. Tomorrow I'm supposed to fly to Erie, Pennsylvania. When we get back, if I can get out, I'm going to try to get to Birmingham, Alabama, so I can be ready Friday morning for the C-45 rides. The question will be weather again. Thursday evening and Friday morning both, so I'm just going to look for my window to get out and down there. The Aerostar is pretty much sold, so we won't likely be taking that any more. Ethan has offered his Cirrus when he's not using it, so I'm going to take it to Birmingham. It'll save a lot of gas money for the CAF, so that's helpful.

Tomorrow's weather is up in the air too, so we'll just have to see how all this comes together. Life on the unknown, per life in aviation.

I did have to go through all my flightsuits and try to find one. I have one with a broken zipper, one that's too tight, one that's too big, and one that seems just about right at the moment. So I packed the one I have and hope for the best. It's a smaller flightsuit than the one I last wore giving rides, so that's nice. I'm in between jeans sizes too. One set too tight, the next size gets baggy within a few hours of wearing it. It amazes me how much weight I can gain-or lose-and still be in the same size clothes and how you can't even really tell much difference. I can tell how I feel, but I don't know that you can tell that much visually. Luckily I only care a little bit about that, that's not the point, as much as health. And I do feel better. My knees are thanking me.
