Friday

Not much today. Sketchy weather, turbo Cirrus flight checkout in Indy canceled for low ceilings and high winds. That meant I couldn't take one guy in it while Morgan took another guy in the 340 on the same day, so I got multiple texts about why we can't use the 421 or anything else yet and had to go back and forth on that. Always do my best to get the job done where I can. My motivation for going extreme extra miles has taken a hit this year, but I still do what I can anyway.

Me, Chuck, Jerry K and Steve picking up Jeff were supposed to meet for dinner at Harvey Hinklemeyers. I pull in, and Steve and Jeff are pulling back out. Chuck, Jerry and I ended up eating all our food and Steve wasn't back, so I got his to go. Come to find out, Jeff had passed out in the car on the way there, so Steve was taking him back home, and he passed out in the car a couple more times. Steve couldn't hardly get him out of the car, got a wheelchair, and up to his room Jeff's blood sugar had tanked, so Steve got him some OJ and a cookie, and he quickly snapped out of it. Steve left him there only after making sure he was alert and back to himself. Jeff with diabetes and dementia is a bad deal. He should be in a facility, but he's broke and on his own for the most part, which is why Steve keeps an eye on him some, and so does his brother-in-law Dave H. He's already ended up in the hospital once with blood sugar levels over 400, only found because he wasn't making sense on a phone. He may very well die in that apartment one of these days, but at least it would be a 'fall asleep and not wake up' thing, which is not the worst way to go, except for whoever happens to have to find him however much later.

Kaylee had been worried about her meeting this morning with the mother of a kid she had to file a DCS report on, but she texted us this morning that it all went well and everything was fine. So that's good news. I held on to her Easter Basket. Maybe tomorrow morning. Give her a couple days to enjoy it. ;)

I have decided Easter is my favorite candy holiday, because I love those cadbury chocolate eggs. I can and have eaten whole bags of those. These years I buy a bag before and after the holiday and munch on a handful of them each day. Good chocolate, man. Better than Valentine's Day with the candy heart stuff.

I'm sitting here listening to it storm outside, which is always soothing when you don't have to be anywhere...
