Randomness

For not flying today, I actually stayed busy all day. Most of it was computer work, but not all.

I didn't wait over the weekend, I wrote up and sent a message to PA after lunch today. They responded that they called the FAA and verified with them that they do have my stuff. That someone will have to look it over and make sure it's not missing anything, then pass it on to the FAA Flight Surgeon who will have to look it over and make a determination. No idea on a timeline. On the optimistic side, I saw a post by Wingman Med on Facebook, another place that does specialty medicals and makes me wonder if I should have gone to them, but they said "The FAA has continued their trend of dramatically reducing the time for deferred cases to be adjucated. Well prepared general cases are being turned around in less than one week. Well prepared complicated cases are being turned around in just over one month. The key is properly prepared. Dr. Susan Northrup, FAA Flight Surgeon, is doing an outstanding job".  On the pessimistic side, I haven't heard that anywhere else, I know of people waiting months, and I am not exactly feeling lucky. So...no idea when we'll know more, but everything is out of my hands now. I feel better having told them nicely that I'd started this in December on purpose so everything could be done by April, that I could have done the HIMS and the rest of this in Jan/Feb if they'd said I needed it then, and that it really hurts me financially and in many other ways to find myself in this position right now, and I'd pressured them into calling or doing whatever they can to expedite this. So...there's literally nothing else for me to say or do, just wait on OK City. Keep your fingers crossed, your positive vibes into the universe, and your prayers coming, for a quick, or at least positive end to this. Quick would be great, positive would be mandatory.

So relaxing.

I think I mentioned I was working on my cardio via V02Max levels. The first time I tested it, I was down at 20, which is considered "very poor". Since then I've been walking and taking these six minute exercise tests, and today's test came in at 23, which is at least just "poor".  But "poor" is better than "very poor", and hopefully soon I will be up to "Fair" or "Below Average", which starts at like 24. lol Hey, it's progress. Better this week than last week, better next week than this week, right?

I got an email that my car needs to be re-registered now that it's mine. I think when I go into the BMV to do that, I'm going to switch over to the blackout plates. Black plates with white letters. I think that'll look good on my car. I'm just trying to decide whether or not to personalize it too.

I spent a lot of time working on flying jobs stuff coming up in April. Had to rearrange and add some things. I also scheduled two flights in the turbo Cirrus to get checked out in that, and was promptly removed from one of them by the owner who wanted it instead. The last one is Friday, and it'll probably be raining, but...we'll see what we get then.

We're probably going to cancel Sun-n-Fun. I likely won't be able to give rides. Also we haven't been this tight financially in a long time and we usually supplement the Sun-n-Fun trip so BOB won't lose money. BOB lost money last year over the tour because of all the maintenance, and we don't want to start off the year in the hole. We want to go because this year we didn't get to go anywhere warm all winter, and Sun-n-Fun is your first hot summer airshow fun, a little vacation, and we didn't get that this year, and I was looking forward to it. And because if you're invited to give rides at Sun-n-Fun, one of the very few that gets to do that, you don't want to say no or you may not get another invite. And because it's a way to stay in the "in" circles in warbirds, stay noticed, stay relevant in them. But Ethan has a flight that apparently can't be any day except Friday or Saturday of Sun-n-Fun and they aren't moving on the date. And like I said, we need the money, and Morgan doesn't feel ready to do rides at Sun-n-Fun by herself even if we did go even though it would lose money. So all that to say, going to probably try to find a graceful way to exit the event soon here. It's of course where my tooth tried to kill me, I didn't enjoy last year in any way, so it would be nice to have a better experience to over-write that, but the thought of doing it all in just a couple weeks also seems like a lot of overwhelming work. So...so be it. At least it's getting warmer here too. We made it through winter.

Ashely the CFI did write me back and thanked me for the feedback after all, so that was nice.

I have a few more things to finish up tonight, then going to try to relax.

Tomorrow Steve and I are meeting friends for dinner down in Indy. Sunday Steve and Kaylee are going hiking again for the first time all winter. And Monday is my next Cirrus flight, taking one guy to KY and then another guy out to MO then back to KY to pick up the 1st guy, then home. This one is much nicer on timeline. I don't have to be at Delphi with it until 8:45 am or so. Which means I have to leave Exec by 8:30, which means I need to be there by 8, which means I need to leave the house at 7, which means I need to get up at 6:15 am. Getting up at 6:15 am is better than 3:45 am. It's just sad that to get to START a trip by 8:45 am, I still have to get up at 6:15 am.  2.5 hours ahead of the launch time of the flight...

I can't remember what I'm forgetting about today, so until or unless I do, I'll just sign off here.
