Needles and Sewage and Chattanooga

My morning started sitting in the dentist chair at 7:50 am, getting two large needles in the face, pulling off an old broken up cap off my tooth, grinding and filing down the underlying tooth, getting a mold done, getting the temporary on, pried off, redone, back on. I was in there about 1.5 hours, and none of those minutes were fun. I left with a dead half of the face and a sore jaw once that wore off. Great way to start your day, right?

When I got home, we learned that the sewar guy was finally coming over to work on it. If he could get down about 6' and find the problem, he'd fix it himself and leave the city out of it, even though they didn't want him to. He digs a big ole hole back there, and...no luck. What that means, is if we have to go down 22', like they originally said we might, the city only uses one contractor. After they dig the hole, find the problem, and repair it, we have to pay for all that, and we have to pay to repave the alley, too. Initial estimate given to us was $40,000.00. In case you're wondering, I don't have $40,000 (or more) sitting around to pay for that. I don't know what we're going to do. Literally, unsure what will happen or what we'll do. Our sewar guy is still trying to fight with the city and help us, but...don't know how this will go. Also, this is week 3 without being able to use the water/sewar much. Tomorrow I'll probably go over and do laundry again at Kaylee's. This afternoon while they were working on it, we couldn't run any water at all, but I think we can do an occasional water only teeth brush or so. We're still trying to time other bathroom things with toilets we can flush, et cetera. This is great, isn't it? Remember when I said it's like we can't catch a break? Well, obviously I was mistaken, right?!

I ordered in lunch from Panera (soup and salad) so we could be here while they were working, when we had hope that it would be repaired for relatively inexpensive and quickly, today. Then I drove to Marion, where I picked up the Meridian, and flew it down to Chattanooga, Tennessee. A pretty area, on a pretty day, with the bright Fall sunshine and rich blue skies. That actually made me feel better. Flying has the effect, and if I can get paid for it too, that's better than paying for it. ;) Topped off with fuel, picked up Nick, and dropped him off at Frankfort. He got out with the plane running so I wouldn't have to hot start, and then I flew it home to Marion, left it on the ramp chocked, drove to the airport to pick up packages Steve forgot to have the guys get from the FBO before they closed, and made it home in time to watch a few more Tulsa episodes, massage my sore jaw, catch up on paperwork, and try to hydrate without having to use the bathroom that often. *eyeroll*

The Hole. I could fit a body in there easy.

Fall Sunset Flying in the Meridian

Gazebo At Marion

Came home to this. Looks like how I left it, with the addition of caution tape

Pretty little gazebo at Marion Airport, at sunset, with the Meridian in the background
