Homebound

Today was pay-the-bills day, do three loads of laundry (next door) day, change bedding day, get the mail day. That stuff.

After lunch with Jerry, Chuck and Steve, I went out to the Aerostar and did a test flight on it. The mags are still not right, the plane is 'hot' and runs fine with the mags off on the left engine. But the hydraulics are working, the gear went up and down and flaps went up and down and the pressures all stayed good. So that plane is Almost fixed. But then the RG went down with a bad battery after they got the nosewheel fixed. So that one's back 'out'.  Never heard from the avionics 340 that was supposed to be done today. Other 340 didn't get fixed today as planned either. He's hoping the parts come in tomorrow and he can get it back up. So I'll be taking the Meridian tomorrow instead, on a multi-legged trip. Marion to Delphi to Decatur to Springfield to C47 wherever that is to Delphi to Marion. Conquest guys are coming tomorrow to look at and hopefully fix that. We'll see.

The sewer guy from Indy was supposed to come last night and dig the hole, but he didn't come. Steve got a call at 8 am that they were "on their way", but they didn't actually show up until 1:30 pm. At that point he said there were no markings and he was going to have to call 8-1-1 prior to digging and that they had 48 hours to give permission for him to dig. So he's guessing it'll be Friday before he digs the hole. Then it's a question as to whether he or our guy is going to do the actual repair. They think we can avoid using the city's mob crew, and that it'll cut the expenses down from $40k to...who knows yet. Gotta dig the hole, repair the seals, pipe, joints, and then fill in the hole and if need be repave the alley behind our house. So we wait some more days, and then see what we get...
