Hello from Bowman Field, Kentucky. It’s warm and sunny here. We still don’t have water at home, but at least we do here in our hotel suite. It’s a nice suite! Fancy. Full kitchen, living room, separate bedroom, bathroom, changing room, several closets, a kitchen island, all the things. The airshow here is taking care of their pilots very nicely. Free food, free alcohol, free coffee at the coffee truck, free hotel, free Uber rides to and from the airport (it was supposed to be cars but the cars didn’t show so they set up Uber vouchers for everyone), and lots of gas for the plane, too. Tomorrow we give rides. They didn’t advertise rides so I don’t know how many we’ll get, but one way or the other, it’s a nice weekend at least. ;)
We hung out at the airport until close to 9 pm; they had a band playing, and the free food and drinks, and we hung out with airshow friends for several hours, until my butt was tired of sitting on a picnic table bench seat and so was everyone else’s and we got the Uber and went back to the hotel. Steve went downstairs to the bar to meet up with Fryman who had just driven in, and I stayed up here to wash my face and have a little peace and quiet for a few minutes.
Oh, first thing this morning I went to the lab and got my blood drawn for a round of, well, normal labs. I checked estrogen and testosterone levels too, out of pure curiosity. I figure by the time I get back on Monday they’ll have my results and I’ll know my kidney, liver, red blood cell, blood sugar, etc. levels. When I went in, the lady was busy and asked what tests I was there for. I couldn’t come up with the six different 3 letter codes, and she snapped at me and said all snotty “You don’t know who your doctor is??” and I snapped back “I’m not HERE from a doctor’s office, I’m self-testing, but here’s the paper you need” and I hand her the paperwork with all the codes on it. Like…don’t be condescending and rude to me, lady. She was much nicer after that and didn’t even hurt me when she took the six vials of blood out of there. ;) Part of it was also a urine test. I’d drank a full bottle of water, but when you walk in it could be you go in right away, or you could sit there for 2 hours. So you don’t want to have to GO when you get there, but you need to be able to maybe go a little. Well, I get there and it originally said it would be an hour and 20 minutes before I was seen. It was only 20 minutes, and by then I didn’t have to GO, I barely had to go. They got about an inch. I hope it was enough. ;)
