All Over

This was one of those coordinating days that I'll write out for my own posterity.

Morgan drove to Marion and took the Meridian down to Terre Haute to drop it off for its maintenance.
I drove to Logansport and took the Aerostar down to Terre Haute to pick her up.

We landed within 5 minutes of each other, her first so she could tie down the airplane. She got into the Aerostar and flew us down to Paducah, Kentucky. We were supposed to be there at noon. We were rolling up to the ramp at 11:59 a.m.

This is particularly impressive because Marion didn't get the Meridian out or fueled on time, so she started off more than 20 minutes later than she was trying to. And Logansport didn't top off my fuselage fuel tank, which is the main fuel tank on the Aerostar and must be the one full if anything is full, so I had to have them redo that too. But both she and I are excellent at time management, so we were early enough that we could deal with anything that came up and still be on time...and we were.

We get to Paducah at 11:59, and Nathan and Steve are ready to go. I fly us back to Kokomo, and drop off Nathan so he could go home. Fire back up and fly over to Logansport to drop off Steve, so he can drive my car from this morning home. Fire back up and fly over to Marion to drop off Morgan, to pick up her car left there from picking up the Meridian. Fire back up and fly home to Kokomo where Steve's car is waiting for me to drive it home.

I topped off the Aerostar. Fuel totalizer said it should take 120 gallons. It took 120.4. You sure can't get much closer than that, man.

I drove home, texted Kaylee and Steve and Chuck and Morgan, and we all agreed to meet at Pastarrific to eat. None of us had eaten that day yet, so we were hungry to eat at 4:30 pm. lol We went and had good food and good company as usual, and then back home.

So I had six legs of flights today, all but one are hot starts. Hot starting the Aerostar is no small trick. You goof up the first attempt, and you are Hosed, most likely. Fortunately I did not goof it up and did 5 very hot starts in a row, successfully. I was pleased with that one. ;)

Kaylee let us know today that she would be interested in mountaineering. Climbing mountains. She knows she's physically not in great shape, but she's been working on that steadily, and she just did a 5K and did fine with it, even on a hot day. So she's going to start working on her cardio, stamina and start building up her local hiking, camping skills. She wants to climb her first real mountain by the end of next year, that's her goal. You'd laugh, except she didn't like to sing in the car before she decided to be in show choir and did everything she had to do for that. She's decided many odd things over the years, and usually they work out pretty well if she has a plan. We'll see!
