Now, I didn't know my brain wasn't working right, but it wasn't working right. The flying was fine. It was perfect weather, smooth as glass all the way, no storms for once, it was just nice. We got there just fine, landed, and Ethan and Tell took off. I took the crew car into town and enjoyed myself. I stopped at the Cafe W and had breakfast; their waffles are *really* good, by the way. Left there and walked down to the coffee shop, the Tributary, and got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Also delicious. Crossed the street and went to the cake shop and picked up a pastry to eat later (still haven't eaten it yet). All's well. I walk back to my car and I can't find my keys. I go back to the Cafe, because I remembered the keys on my table, and she said "Oh, no, someone left a credit card, but I don't have any keys!" Shoot. So I go to the next stop, the coffee shop. She says "Yes, here they are!" and I take my keys, drive back to the airport, pay my $285 landing fee for being there, and head out.
I get to Colorado Springs for their cheap CAA fuel. It's *Four Dollars and Eighty-Three Centers PER GALLON* cheaper fuel there. I buy 450 gallons at a time. So yeah. I *saved* $2,173.50 on fuel, making that $285 landing fee for not purchasing fuel at Gunnison well worth it. Getting into Colorado Springs isn't so easy. It's a Class C airport with airline service and it takes a lot longer to get into and out of than Pueblo does, but if you're not in a hurry, that fuel price...
I was a little behind on this leg, because it's a short hop into busy airspace that is unfamiliar and they gave me two re-routes including a victor airway stuff I had to look up (cheyenne equipment doesn't have airways in it so you do it the old fashioned way). So I felt a little behind for a couple minutes on that leg, but still not too bad.
Then I get inside and go to pay for the fuel--and my credit card isn't there. Not in my purse. Not there. I had to have left it at the cafe (I handed it to her to run behind the counter, I must not have gotten it back). So let me reiterate here. I left my credit card at the cafe. Left my car keys at the coffee shop. Went back to the cafe and they mentioned someone left a card but I didn't know it was me, I just knew my keys were missing. What the actual.... So I had to pay for the fuel with my own card. I then try to call the Cafe. They closed at 2. They don't open again until Thursday. Fortunately I am going back Thursday, so I will go into town and grab it then. But seriously, what kind of dementia screw up crap is that?! So I sat on the ground in Colorado Springs for a minute to make sure my head was on as straight as it got, and then flew home, completely uneventfully. Again, the flying part was almost completely perfectly natural and fine. I just apparently lost all my brain cells while eating in Gunnison...
I got home around 5:20 pm, and Steve, Morgan, Chuck and I went to Grindestone's for dinner. When I got home, I brought some soup home for Kaylee, who came over and told me about her interview today. It went well, she was with two directors, they asked good questions, she asked good questions, they never listed the position publicly, and she is almost certainly a shoo-in for the position. She is excited, and I'm excited for her. Then I tried on two of the dresses, Steve and Kaylee picked the long floor length black one with the slit in the leg, and I repackaged and got everything else ready to ship back. I'll try to do that tomorrow. Hundreds of dollars of dresses I tried on, and the one I ended up with is inexpensive from Amazon...very simple. Kaylee's going to help me dress it up, a pop of color, jewelry, shoes. Steve still needs to get his suit, too...

You can see what a beautiful day it was in Colorado...
