6:30 am wake-up call, pulled out the Cheyenne and was headed off to Colorado Springs by 8:00 am. It was a quiet, smooth morning, they weren't busy, and I got in, topped off with cheap fuel, and out, in no time. Ran VFR over to Gunnison, and was there waiting for about an hour and a half, as they got delayed. Picked up the Beery family, and ran them back to Delphi at 35,000'. A 7 hour flight, nice and easy.
When I got back, Morgan and Cameron were there, and I topped off the Cheyenne for tomorrow's flight, right before they closed, which was handy because I needed to leave in the morning before they'd be open again, and I needed fuel to get to Texas.
I ran home to pick up Steve's pants tailor ticket, because the shop was open till 9 pm. Went there and got his pants, walked through the mall, got a shirt at Target (I really need pants but shopping for those is a nightmare). I also walked past an eye place and saw they sold Ray Ban sunglasses, so I walked in and asked if they fixed them. They did the adjustment for me for free, and cleaned them, and now I don't have a bent arm any more. Yay! Ran over to Starbucks and got a latte, ran through Panera and got a salad for dinner. Home in time to check on Molly, scoop her litterbox, drop off some packages for Kaylee, then back over home to finish off the night.
Last night I watched "Sinners" at night. It's a vampire movie, but not a typical one. It was actually really well done. Great music if you like the blues, not a ton of violence for most of it, but it built up great and then exploded into a LOT of violence. And it was good and creepy. Nice ending, too. However, my point of telling you this is that after I watched that movie, I had to go next door in the dark to shut up Kaylee's house and take care of Molly, and I'll be damned if I didn't find myself jogging across the dark area thoroughly creeped out. I slept with my gun out next to me, not for vampires, but because the house felt very quiet and weird. Funny how that works. ;)
Steve said Lexington is going great for the C-45 rides, and Kaylee is enjoying babysitting the dogs but says she's now used to Molly's sweet, quiet, clean ways, and the slobby, rough, over-eager Goldens are making her pretty tired and she's fairly sure she'll be just fine as just a cat mom instead. She also called me last night and wanted me to come over up there by Wabash because he saw a "giant hairy black spider" and dad wouldn't come back from Lexington to kill it. I told her she was shit out of luck, I am *not* going over there to kill a spider. I suggested she go over to a store and pick up spider killer spray that shoots 12' and wait to see it again and kill it from afar like I do. ;) Unfortunately she texted me that it disappeared and she hasn't seen it since and she can't think that's a good thing either. Ha.
Tomorrow I'm taking Morgan and picking up Andy in Austin, TX. More hot days...
