BOB

Today worked out nicely to be a BOB day. Spencer came down from Chicago to help, and it was great to see him. We ran BOB...four times I think today. Tweaked on the engines, props, found leaks, found several things, and that'll really put us in good shape for getting ready on time for Sun-n-Fun. By the end of the day, we'd gotten the right engine and prop right where we want it. Just have to adjust the left, but now they know what to do about it. Put the ailerons fixed up and back on, and we should be about good. I'm tired just from spending the day doing that, and all I did was run-ups. Holding the brakes on BOB and running it at full power over and over is harder than you'd expect it to be.

Justin Harris, Jon Tharp, Spencer Jordan, Brennan Bailey, they did most of the work. Jim Blythe helped, Steve trouble-shot with them, I did the start up, taxi, run-up work. Morgan came along on the last one, but there is no right seat in the plane at the moment, so I had the front to myself. lol

Steve and I went to the Mennonite store today for lunch. We hadn't been there in awhile. They've raised their prices, but they needed to, and we want to support them, so we bought about $100 worth of stuff there today. Including our sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, cookies, homemade bread and apple butter. Cheese curds, peach pie. All great stuff. Shared most of it with the guys at the airport.  The store now has an LED display listing all their sandwiches, prices, fancy digital registers, too. They've upgraded, and I think they lost some of their old clientele because people liked them when they charged less than it cost for them to make the stuff. $3 for a huge sandwich, for example. So they have fewer customers temporarily, but hopefully they can do well in the end. They're good folks providing good food/services.

Me with BOB on a high-power run. You can see the gear legs move with the "Walking Gear".
