Fri-Yay

Not really, it was a fine day, nothing spectacular, but a good day.  Nice weather again, after the morning clouds burned off.

I took up Jerry's Citabria after lunch, and Morgan went along. I went over to Glenndale, did a few TOLS, and then back to Kokomo and did a bunch. She did a few too. Sixteen in total, which is a lot of takeoffs and landings. ;)

Went to dinner with Morgan, Cameron, AE and Steve, and got home by 6 pm so he can hang out with the guys around the fire and smoke cigars and drink whisky.  All good.

We did have a little show down on Dixon Road, though. Driving from the airport to the restaurant, I was in the lead, then Morgan, then Cameron, and Steve brought up the rear. When we got on Dixon, Steve passed the others and pulled up next to me at a stoplight. I looked over and saw him, and I just knew. The light turned green, and we were off. Next stoplight, same thing. I don't know what speed we got up to, but it was over 80 mph and we left the other two about 1/4 mile behind. Me in the Charger beat him off the line and out-accelerated his Jeep with the Hemi at each stoplight, but I could tell at the end of the run, if we'd have been on a straight-away, he'd have been able to overtake me. Neither of us was to the floor all in because of where we were. We kept backing off, I'd just stay ahead of him and do whatever it took to do that. His engine is bigger than my engine, but my car did pretty well, and I did outrun him in the short distances. ;)  It was fun. We want to do it again on a better road. Maybe a runway or something, and cut them both all in loose.
