Chaos

Everywhere is Chaos!

Biden drops out, and everyone acts shocked, as if they haven't been screaming about him doing that for weeks now. The left is all pretending to be jazzed up about Harris, the right is all, oh, it doesn't matter. I'm gonna quit watching for awhile now. It's on my nerves.  They couldn't force him out legally because this isn't how it works. You don't hold primaries where the American people vote for the candidate they want, and then when you decide that candidate might not be able to beat the opposition, you just replace him with one you hope can. That's not how that works.  If he's unfit to run, then he's not fit to be president right now, either, right?  And if he's fit to be president right now, you can't kick him out and replace him with who you think might be better. So they couldn't, so they forced him into "choosing" to drop out, which he can legally do, but because "he can't win", not because he's "unfit", which is... so they can now pick who they think has a better chance against Trump. Yeah, none of this is sketchy at all. "Threat against democracy", yeah, it's all just the "right" that are threats to democracy, right?  Right.  Let the Machines begin their grinding towards forcing us all into what they think is best for our own good. Again.

Anyway. Whatever.

I woke up not feeling great this morning, but by this afternoon I feel like the cold is finally passing through.  I may try not taking Nyquil tonight and see how it goes. I have to be up at 4:45 am, so I neither want to be groggy nor do I want to have not been able to sleep all night because of not breathing.  We'll see how it goes I guess.

Today I went back to Teterboro. It was a lot quieter today than Thursday, but it's still Teterboro. It took me about 35 minutes to get off the ground instead of an hour at least. Picked up Andy, took Morgan with me, and had her do the flying and some of the radios in, including the landing there and at home, so that was good experience for her. As usual I had huge route changes and reroutes. It took me three iPad devices to get everything done once. My phone that had the written huge clearance on it, the mini pad on the yoke to get my taxi directions on, and my big ipad in my lap to write down the huge clearance reroute.  Then I had to use those to plug them into the avionics, the old 430 doesn't have airways so I had to use one of the iPads to plug in the route and then dial up all the intersections and bends in the airways into the 430 too. It takes a long time. Loooot of effort. It was a good weather day though, and we didn't have any trouble.

Got back from that and still had time, so I told Ethan I could pick his 340 up from Ohio. Got Morgan to take me in the RG, except the guy who was supposed to be back at 3 didn't get back until almost 4. The problem is, I had to be at Ohio by 4 to get back to Frankfort by 5 so the line guy there would still be there and could rearrange the planes and help put everything away in a tight hangar.  So John Routt took me and Morgan both in his Bonanza, because he was already out there and willing.

I got to Ohio close to 4, and got back to Frankfort at 4:55.  The line guy there tells me he damaged the Conquest towing it out, and a part on the nosewheel got squished and torn off. So I call the mechanic in Ohio, and he tells me we can just take that part off and it's safe enough.  Line guy can't get it off because he's using metric tools on English parts, which John keeps trying to tell him but he's not listening. So John goes back to his airplane where he has a tool kid, gets the right size tool, and gets it off in 10 minutes.  Then has to fly us back to Kokomo. It was a good thing John was out at the airport today and willing to help a girl out, because this wouldn't have gone so well without his assistance on multiple fronts.

I got home around 7:15 or so. Now it's 8:30, and I have to be up at 4:45 am, and I haven't gotten a lot of stuff done I need to.

Tuesday's weather looks rainy. If it rains, E wants to go Wednesday with his people up to Oshkosh instead. Except it took me hours and a lot of effort to get everything ready for him on Tuesday, and everything ready for ME on Wednesday. Time slots, flight plans, calling FBOs and reserving ramp space, filling out and sending in paperwork, all of it. If we don't go Tuesday, he loses ramp fees, and I have to change and make new reservations for Wednesday, and lose mine, and eat ramp fees, and the people going up with me now won't go till Thursday, which I will then have to make reservations and such for.  But if I don't do his group Wednesday, a plane full of people who were getting a "fun surprise" by their boss going up there, won't get that, and that's a bummer for him and them.  But...  *sigh*

Need to send out billing, do the logbooks, scan in the receipts, and go so I don't get behind.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.
