Beryl

Am I the only person who thought that the name "Beryl" was pronounced like "Pearl" and not "Barrel"?  I googled it, and as a male name it was from "Burrel" which would still sound like "Pearl", but all the news people are calling it "Barrel" and it throws me. In my head it's "Bearl".  Learn somethin' new.

I went to Kroger this morning and picked up 48 pieces of chicken and some cole slaw for the Squirrels. Set it up, and then while they were eating, I gave a 10 minute talk. Shelbe is in charge of the Squirrels and she'd asked Morgan to talk to them today. But Morgan already had, about her Air Race, and she didn't have anything else to talk about. So I told her I'd do it. I talked about flight training, contract corporate pilot gigs, and the warbird world.  Took about 10 minutes, nobody asked any questions, Morgan owes me one. ;)

Beryl started in on us today. We got the first rain around noon, and it's supposed to keep crapping on us until tomorrow sometime. There are high winds, storms and tornado watches, but it's really benign up here in Kokomo. Rain and wind and a few storms, in other words...summer.  It is making me not fly today or tomorrow, but I had other stuff to do anyway. No biggie.  The rest of July I have like two days where I don't have something scheduled.  So...Giddy-up!

I think Kaylee is doing all right today. I've talked to her about other things, but not about the internship thing. She seems okay, so I'll leave her for now.

Probably not much else going on the rest of today or tomorrow. Just hunkering in while it rains. I'm all caught up on housework, I'm mostly caught up on my calendar/schedule, so I'm probably just going to do my nails and read a book. Sounds like a plan. ;)
