All I really had to do today was take the T-6 up to do a fly-over of the Haynes Apperson 4th of July Parade in downtown Kokomo. It's just me, so no formation or smoke or anything cool, just a fly-over, and it's hard as heck to hit the right street, believe it or not. I tried to drive down the street today before I went to fly, just to find better visual aids, but they already had it all blocked off. So be it. I marked things on ForeFlight and tried my best. I think I got pretty close on timing and such.
If I'd been in the mood, I could have taken the plane and worked it out a little. Some takeoffs and landings, maybe some aerobatics, as I haven't done any yet this season. But I wasn't in the mood. I was hot, and muggy, and tired, so I landed, topped it off with gas, which made me sweatier, and tugged the airplane away. Chuck was trying to direct me on where to go, but he was wrong, so I ignored him and parked it myself, and nailed it, on the line, on the chocks, and he said "I guess I don't need to tell you how to do that, huh?" I just laughed and said I had to keep up my practice so I could stay better than Spencer. ;)
One of these upcoming days, I do need to take the T-6 up and hit some stuff. Gotta be in the right mood though.
BOB gave 4 more rides today, so hopefully it's doing okay as a stop up there with Dave. It should come home sometime tomorrow.
Kaylee met Steve and I for dinner at Pastarrific, and came home to her doing some notes, spending the night, working on a project, us watching Olympic try-outs on mute, and catching up on our own stuff. Nothing big. Just a nice family evening together, you know?
My holding route before the parade, then coming down the parade line.
