Kaylee is all moved into her new apartment! Steve went and helped her yesterday. It's a bummer that I've been sick, because the two of them had to do it without me. They had dinner last night, and got her blind fixed, and her shower set up, and everything is looking good in there! It's got a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room, lots of closet space, teeny weeny bathroom, gas stove/oven, new carpeting, lots of windows, older but clean, weak front door lock, but all in all a good first apartment. I like the view of the downtown buildings the best. It may get hot in the summer, it just has a window unit cooler, no air conditioning. And radiators in the rooms for heat, but I think that'll probably keep her warm enough.
You know people that probably aren't bad people but they just get on your nerves and you can't always even define why but something about them just tweaks you? Steve and I share one, a person who takes advantage of everything possible, who owes us money for flight training but goes out and does all sorts of other stuff too, gets a ton of freebie things, knows how to write scholarship applications and such and get as much stuff as possible. You can't really blame someone if they're good at that and get a bunch of stuff, but it sits wrong anyway, because it's like...damn, leave some for somebody worse off than you. Not that long ago this person got to ride with the Blue Angels. Got a free week up at Oshkosh with a bunch of benefits for winning that scholarship. Just won a warbird scholarship off of the lady who died in the T-6 this year at Oshkosh, to go to Florida and fly with Patty Wagstaff for a week. We were scheduled to do the spin training endorsement here, with another scholarship being applied for, and I just got the text that they're not doing it with me, they're going to Florida to fly with Patty, "sorry not sorry, kisses". I'm mostly a mature adult, but once somebody hits you the wrong way, it's hard to avoid the instant negative reaction you have to interactions with them. Especially when they keep getting these big things. I mean the Blue Angels? Really? Anyway...
Quiet Sunday of recuperation, I canceled my flight for Monday, and then we'll see how it goes.
