Friday's Journeys

I was up at 6 am, at Frankfort by 7:45, and Nick, Stephen and I departed around 8 and went to Piqua, Ohio. It's the home of Hartzell Propellors, but I didn't go tour the facility, because I've seen enough propellors and find them much more interesting when attached to an actual airplane.  ;)  Piqua was only 20 minutes away from Kokomo, and they were going to be there until 2 pm, so I took the plane back to Kokomo (with permission) and joined friends here for lunch, ran two errands, and then went back to Ohio to wait. They ended up not being ready to go until 3 pm, but it's a short flight back home, so it all worked out.  I topped off with gas, and went upstairs to try to close my eyes for an hour, to rest up a little for the long night ahead.

At 4:30 pm, I loaded back up and flew down to Ft. Lauderdale. I went by myself this time, read a book all the way down.  It was a pretty evening until I got down to Florida. It was warm there, but the winds were a 70-80 degree crosswind gusting to 32 knots, 15 knot gust factor, an ILS required in, and they landed me on the runway on the other side of the airport from my FBO at a big airline hub airport, so my taxi instructions and such were a lot.  It was busy, but good.  I was only there for an hour, but everything I was going to do there, I couldn't. I was going to talk to the Bahama Customs people, but they were closed. I was going to eat at the little cafe there, but it was closed. So I ate a bag of Cheetos and a cup of coffee and called it dinner.  lol  After an hour, Andy and his wife were there, and we departed around 9:30 pm, and I was back home in my bed around 2:30 am.  Nothing exciting on the flights or the day, it was pretty easy really, a fair amount of time, but nothing on the trip that caused me too many problems.  So I don't mind that.  :)

Kaylee drove to Ohio to go to a former college roommate's wedding.  She sent me these photos of her with her friends, and her at work.

And these are photos from the trip.

Piqua, Ohio. Homey, small, pretty.

The light show gives me warm happy feelings in the air. :)

I tried not to take any more sunset photos. I have so many sunset photos. They don't look different from each other very much.  I can't help myself.

It's a sickness.

I only have 75 photos of Indy at night, too.  But it's pretty.
