Weekend Update

Yesterday was my Sunday even though today is Sunday.  Steve had lessons all morning, and I stayed home and didn't do much but relax.  Then Saturday afternoon, Steve and I dressed up and drove down to meet a couple friends in Indy at Prime 47, a steakhouse in the middle of downtown Indy.  I had Sea Bass, and a crab cake (both were very good), and we got these fries there, but it was a huge plate of fries, so the two of us ate on them last night, and reheated the leftovers, split them, and still had a ton to eat today.  It was nice to get out for the evening, hang out with friends, we walked a block to see the new skating rink going in down there, and got home around 11:30 or so.  I couldn't wait to get back into comfortable clothes, and I fell asleep fast with a full stomach, but no regrets.  ;)

Today was gorgeous out. Our airplanes were busy all weekend even though we weren't in them, with all our new instructors going.  So that's good.  I had one flight today, with the gent who had some excitement in our 180.  We went over to Glenndale, did short field, came back to Kokomo, did normal ones, engine out landings, and 'try to hit a spot' landings, because he was always way high and fast back home.  Dialed in a few things, but the winds were dead calm, as in none, zero, so we said we'd get back together when we actually had a breeze to work with.  But we enjoyed it and it was good to dial in some things again that he'd gotten sloppy on.  I told him I do the same thing to myself. I take up an airplane and work myself over and no landings are perfect, just try to improve each time.

I got just about everything for our Gluten-Free Thanksgiving today except pumpkin pie. I did get the ingredients to make a crustless pumpkin pie for Kaylee, but the crust is mostly  my favorite part of everything, so I was going to have a pie for me and Steve that had a crust, too.  They were out, but I've got a few days to get my hands on one, or be forced into baking even more things.  lol  I'm going to have turkey, my mashed potatoes, with gluten free gravy, gluten-free stuffing, parmesan roasted green beans, honey balsamic glazed brussels sprouts (that's for Steve, though it's also gluten free), and crustless pumpkin pie.  I've got Wednesday to make the pie(s?) and gravy and maybe stuffing ahead of time, and the rest I'll need to do on Thursday.  Wish me luck--I'm gonna need it!

The Indy Sphere. It's all screens on the inside, like the Vegas Sphere

Downtown Indy, the new skate rink going in.

This was my "Be Real" that went off. Nobody else wanted to be in the picture with me.  lol
