It is cold, windy, blustery, cloudy and rainy. It is one bleh day. And sure enough, either with the weather or a few other things too, my head didn't like it much today. Dumb weather.
Because of the weather, I didn't have any flying, so instead Steve and I drove to Wabash to Kaylee's new apartment, and took over what she couldn't before. Her mattress, some cleaning supplies, her flowers, the food from her fridge, and then we cleaned the apartment. It wasn't actually bad. I vacuumed, Steve cleaned the bathroom, I cleaned the kitchen and her appliances, and we took out empty boxes and bags to help create some space, and when she got off work at 3, she came home and helped at the end there, and her place is slowly coming together. She needs more space for clothes, and we don't have a frame for her mattress yet, but that'll be in on Friday, so for now she's sleeping on her little couch. It's too short even for her, but it's comfortable as long as you don't need to stretch out, and it'll do for a couple days. She's on her way, doin' all right.
Steve and I then went to the airport, picked up the Jeep, dropped the Buick off at the mechanic's place, drove the Jeep home, I fed Ann dinner, fed the cat dinner, started in on my first of four loads of laundry, did the dishes, fixed our own dinner, and then sat down to plow through all my emails and things to do that I've gotten so far behind on with all the trips and graduation stuff going on. I still have more of that to do tonight.
I'm trying to figure out my schedule coming up, and it's really hard. I've been putting people off for two months waiting to learn what my schedule will be with the new airplane. I'm still not gonna know for quite awhile, and I don't have a back up pilot. So I've got two people trying to get T-6 checkouts, two big fly-in events, a bunch of students, a trip with Nathan and Kevin to N. Hampshire/Maine, and Ethan's yet unknown trips in the Conquest. That's been causing some issues with people as I can't even tell them "sure, it'll be fine in June" or whatever, because...I don't know yet, or even know when I'll know. But those are a couple of the emails I'm working on tonight.
Time to switch my last load to the dryer and maybe get an ice cream sammich for dessert before tackling the rest of the emails. ;)
These are just some photos I took of the flowers...I wanted some sun on them for the colors, but there was no sun to be had today.
