Whoops

I lost yesterday to some kind of stomach thing. I don't know what happened, but I woke up at 6 am with one set of indigestion troubles, and by 9:30 am you can add in throwing up to the mix. Ended up with a fever and a fuzzy head, sleeping on the couch all day. I woke up that late afternoon, around 4-5 pm, and stayed awake the rest of the day lying on the couch, watching a movie with Steve. Kaylee went back to school and I didn't even really hear her go. I remember apologizing to her for being a bump on a log on her last day with me for the weekend.  I couldn't eat anything until 10:30 pm, I tried to eat some old fashioned chicken noodle soup, and I got about 1/2 bowl down before that was it. I tried to sip water, but I couldn't keep anything down.  I was dehydrating and hadn't had any caffeine and sure couldn't drink a coffee or a Diet Dew. So I took some Excedrine with Caffeine in it, and that helped with that part of it. I sipped on water late evening and got almost a bottle down, and that's all I got in all day.  I went to bed at 11 pm, slept through until 9:30 am, and woke up...fine.  I am weak, my stomach is sensitive, but my head is clear, the fever is gone, and I'm fine. Yesterday I couldn't get off the couch and my head felt wrapped in thick cotton, and I slept the entire day.  Today...fine.  Nobody else got sick. I don't know what it was, where it came from, or why.  But that was "fun".  :p

Kaylee's roommates had a birthday cookie and balloons for her, so that was nice.  :)

My Bose headset is back, and is sitting at the airport waiting for me to go pick it up.  I don't need it for several days, but it bothers me that it's out there waiting to be picked up, and I'm just weak enough I don't feel like going to get it.  I want to see how the refurbishment went, if they saw and fixed that one piece, because nowhere on the form did it really let me spell out the problem and it was small, and if they replaced my ear pieces or not.  (Edited to add, I couldn't stand it, and went out and got it, and basically I have a brand new headset for free. They fixed the one problem, and I have new ear pieces, new mic muff, new headband, and even new batteries in it.  I am quite pleased!)

The wheels are in motion that maybe I'll end up with more of a 'real' job.  E is probably buying a Conquest II, and will be leasing it to his brother's company, who needs a pilot. It would be for 1-2 trips per week.  If it all works out, and it looks favorable, I'd be the primary pilot for it. It would give me something a little more steady and consistent as far as income goes, since MB has really dropped off on flying the last few years. That drop off has given me more time to do warbird/caf stuff, which is good, but not so great for the wallet as those are volunteer stuff except for the Checkertail T-6 checkout stuff.  So this would be good, if it happens. I'd sort of been halfway looking for a more consistent job without taking on one that would lock me in so tight I couldn't do anything else I enjoy. In this case I'd have a backup pilot or two as well, so I'd still be able to get out of trips as needed, and be able to have some flexibility.  As much as 2 trips per week would keep me busy while still leaving me 5 days of the week to do other stuff.  All sounds good to me...

Our laughing surprise when Kaylee's "candle" finally lit off on her cake

It got close to the ceiling!

AE, Mom & Ernie back there as the candle dies...
