I had one lesson today, and we ended up having to do just groundschool, since the weather is still craptastic. But that was good, because she had several questions and we were able to go over those, and I think feel pretty good about it. Her checkride is one month away, for Instrument. Now we need good enough weather to be able to go up and practice for her checkride.
Afterwards, I put Ann to bed, then Steve, AE, Jeff Petty, and I went to dinner at Pastarrific. Hung out, talked, I had some spiked hot chocolate, they had some wine, and it was a nice evening.
I had told you about the 'real' job I may be getting, that has trips 1-2 times a week in a turboprop about to be purchased. I'm not sure if I told you about some other things. There's a guy who lives in Ft. Wayne who is purchasing a T-6. He's not a T-6 pilot. He's not a pilot. He doesn't WANT to be a pilot. He wants to own a T-6 and have someone else fly him and his dad (who was a Cessna pilot many years ago) in it. He asked around and got pointed my way. So he met us out at the hangar to see if we'd get along, and seemed to, so today he had me fill out his insurance form. He hasn't bought the T-6 yet but he's got one on the hook that he's looking to buy. It's super nice, over $300,000. It would be based up there, and I'd fly up there to go fly his airplane with him and his dad, get paid for that, and then I could fly his plane whenever I wanted, for myself, too. How's that for fun? :D
There's also someone who tagged me in a Facebook post about needing a Cheyenne 400 pilot. There aren't a bunch of them out there, so I PMd the guy, and he said he would be interested in talking further with me. He then promptly friend-requested me, I assume so he could look around on my FB profile page and see what I post about and what kind of person or pilot or whatever I am. He won't find anything but family and flying, but not a bunch about the Cheyenne, either, if he's looking for that. Some, but he'd have to go back. The plane would be based out of Maryland, so they'd pay my daily rate plus airfare to get there plus all other expenses, to have me be a backup pilot for them on trips. Fine by me. As usual, I'll stay busy, and I don't mind. And if it doesn't work out, I don't mind that either. Whatever will be will be fine!
No pictures from today. No wrecked cars, no happy cats, no hair blowing selfies, no flying photos. Just a nice (but nasty weather) day.
