Reading

I saw on my Facebook memories that I was coming up on the anniversary of my first solo in the T-6.  So I went back to my blog and read up on it. I used to be a lot more interesting on my blog than I am these days. Now I just report. Back then I posted thoughts and feelings and even got deep now and then.  I guess I'm too tired and lazy to get deep any more.  I'm gad I have it though, because I have a ton of Kaylee stories from when she was little, and those were fun to read too.  Here she is 21 and I'm reading stories about when she was 8. That's a decent record to have.

Thursday and Friday I have a guy coming into town to do T-6 training. Saturday I'm flying Kevin and family to Florida to go to Disney in the Cheyenne. Sunday I'm leaving with Ethan and his family in his C-340 out to Colorado. We're stopping for fuel in Goodland, Kansas, which I found interesting.  And going to Gunnison, CO, with a field elevation of about 7800'.  I'll spend a couple days there before heading back and going to pick up Kevin and family in Florida again.  Should be good, and I'm glad for the busy.

I got an email from a guy who had contacted me a year ago to do a Cheyenne 400LS flight for him. He'd never flown one, they got a new one, and he offered me a multi day trip. I couldn't make it work because I'd promised Chuck to fly to Colorado over the same days. It cost me about $4000 to miss the job, and the future flights it had, but I had promised, and that's how I roll.  So anyway, this guy contacts me and tells me he's an instructor for In Flight Review and he can do my Cheyenne currency that is overdue. So the guy who had never flown one until this year is now going to be my instructor/examiner in it.  I don't even feel like it, to be honest.  I will, because there isn't anyone else, apparently, but I don't feel like it.

Kaylee called, mad because one of the middle school kids she is teaching was shaking and upset, and she found out that the girl is being bullied hard, and was beaten up when she got off the bus today. Kaylee wants to go beat up the bully, which we informed her is harder now that she's an adult and the bully is a middle schooler.  She said "but you guys raised me to defend the people who can't defend themselves". I said yes, but that doesn't mean you beat up a little kid less than half your age, man.  Gotta get more creative than that. ;)

Ann has a sore on her leg that is kind of gross. I think a part of it looks like a boil that needs lanced, but that doesn't seem like a good thing for me to do. So I washed it with saline, put neosporin on it, and put a bandage on it.  It didn't smell very good, so we definitely need to keep an eye on it.  She picks at her skin until it bleeds, then she rubs it some more, and picks off scabs, and just makes it worse, on her face, her arms, her legs.  She forgets to leave it alone or that she already cleaned it or whatever.  This dementia stuff is weird.
