Three days ago I was stressed out about the Cheyenne checkout, didn't sleep much. Two days ago I flew for 6.7 hours. Yesterday ended up being another six hours. I flew the newly upgraded 172RG up to Waukesha, WI, a little bit over the lake, around the skyline. When I got there, I flew with a lady named Vanessa in her shiny silver T-6. She hadn't flown it in a year, and had only flown it once for at least a year before that, too. She did fine. We flew for 1.4, and then took a lunch break, then flew another 1.0 after we ate. She did well, and we were able to finish up. I then flew the RG home at sunset and in the dark, back over the lake. It was beautiful, and slightly terrifying, as even close to the edge of the water it would suck to have an engine failure.
When I got back to Kokomo, it was late, and dark. I had to self serve fuel the RG for a guy taking it on a trip early the next morning, go into the big hangar and get the tie down kit for it, go into the small hangar and get the keys for the car I was taking home, get everything ready, and finally head home. It was a long day, and it's always a little stressful doing T-6 work, so I was wiped out again.
One cool thing. I was sitting in her back seat at the hold short line, and the WI Wing T-6 came in to land, with my former student Scott going solo in it. I watched him make a nice wheel landing, and it made me smile. I helped make him into a good T-6 pilot, and it was fun watching him fly solo. Another T-6, Vic's Harvard, also went up. So there were three of us up there on one beautiful Fall day. I did enjoy that. :)
Roadie has started being picky about not eating again, these last two days. She doesn't have a lot of room to not eat. I swear she's intentionally driving me crazy by routinely almost dying. She's fine now, but won't be after another day or two of not eating enough.
I was so tired from the last several days that this morning I slept until almost 10 am, which is unheard of, didn't go to lunch, didn't take a shower until 3 pm, and didn't do a darned thing but catch up on TV shows. I rested. I needed that.
